I emailed the seller through his auction about him and his partner and their little bidding actions and here is his response.

THERE IS NO MISTAKE MADE HERE ON ANYONES PART. WE HAVE NOTHING TO HIDE. HE IS A REGISTERED EBAYER IN GOOD STANDING WITH A 100% FEEDBACK RATING. HE BOUGHT THE CAR SATURDAY AM OUT OF THE LOCAL PAPER AND MAYBE HE LOST IT TO ME IN A POKER GAME SAT NIGHT AND I DON'T WANT TO SELL THE CAR CHEAP SO HE HAS TO PLAY BALL WITH THE BIG BOYS IF HE WANTS THE CAR BACK. HE PAID FOR THE CAR SAT AM BEFORE HE KNEW IT WAS A L89 CAR.IT IS NOT AN ALLEGED L89 AND IS WORTH 100K SO YOU ARE IN NO DANGER OF BUYING IT.

This car is very close to me (10 miles or less) and I can assure you it wasn't advertised locally in ANY news paper(we all knew this). I agree this is https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bs.gif

I would like to elaborate a little on what GTO DON has said. I think all of us would be more then willing to help another enthusiast with regard to values, condition, correctness, etc if the person asking is really looking at it for their own personal enjoyment. However, such assistance would likely not be forthcoming if the sole purpose was to "flip" the car.

I get asked a lot about opinions on 69 Chevelles and 300 Deluxe models in particular. One recent example was a guy bought a 300 Deluxe SS and got all kinds of information from me after the fact. Two weeks later it's sold for a lot more than what he paid. Then, he starts emailing me with a link to every 69 Chevelle that comes up on Ebay thinking they are under valued. Sorry, no more help https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/no.gif

Just my two pennies worth.

That seller is a real jerk.
Could have just responded "we want to sell the car for $100K -no less"
Instead he made up some lame excuse. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bs.gif

Re: EBAY 9000 mile L-89 Camaro

there are a few like this in the Oldsmobile circle,as of late.

mostly Mopar giuys and Vette guys who have no clue about any Olds, they catch a deal on a 442,and become information vampires,so they can sound knowledgable when trying to pump the car.
most of the ones trying this now, are losing their shirts, because they bought cars that are either clones or rough projects.
