Hmmmmmmmmmmmm. You may be right. While an LS9 is not in the cards right now. There could be a "phase II" winter build next winter!

Put some loud mufflers on her so you can hear the engine and go on the Power Tour with us next year....There will be two LS9 powered cars (since you like 69 Camaros.....LOL)
Then you can be tortured correctly.....

I was able to get in the shop yesterday for most of the day. Ordered a bunch of parts.....

Brake booster and master cylinder, tilt column, power steering box, radiator and fan assy., etc.

Measured up to shorten the driveshaft. O.E. this puppy is in excess of 63"

Getting the rear wheels out is no small undertaking. 285/35R-22. 30 inches tall and rather heavy!
http://i1043.photobucket.com/albums/...8/100_1797.jpg
Did my initial install on the sway bars. I do not know if I would recommend these to anyone.

WTF?
http://i1043.photobucket.com/albums/...8/100_1800.jpg
Wrong bushings for the front. I should have the right ones this week.

I am installing C5 Corvette brakes which I should have this week. I have determined I should use a 4.11 ratio gear set. If my math is correct, I will have a 65mph cruise RPM of just under 2100.
As the parts come in and progress continues, I'll keep ya posted. I'll be at MCAN Saturday and Saturday night. Hope to see some of you!

Brown dropped off more goodies yesterday and today! My front brakes arrived (rears next week), steering column, ECM bracket, and radiator. Plus, I fooled around with the Boshield I ordered. WOW! I can see why you guys are so revved up on Boshield. Thanks for the heads up Ken!

After the Boshield, I am definitely leaning to the patina rather than blow it apart and paint the engine compartment!

See ya in Chicago!

Re: 1959 Bel Air Winter Project

I finally had a chance to get back on to the 59 this weekend. The front brakes and upper control arms are installed, as is the new P.S. box. I also was able to mock up the brake booster / master cylinder to see how that all fits. I scored a 3.70 posi diff center section from a good friend for a song. Cleaned it up and installed it along with the shortened drive shaft I got back this week. Still waiting for the rear brakes . Hopefully that will show this coming week. Polished up the wheels over a few cold ones

Angle milling the exhaust manifolds got them just where I needed them.

I also had a chance to paint the radiator and snapped a pic as to how it sits now.

I have my tilt column mocked in and recieved all of my Dynamat this week as well. As soon as I get the rear brakes, I can make sure the rotors fit the axles properly. I can get it on the ground after that so I can move on to the wiring harness.
