Glad the trans issue is behind you, and I hope you put a couple hundred miles behind you with the nice weather too...:headbang:
Spent my day busting my butt to get primer/sealer on the Camaro floor...but, hey, I was outside to do that.. LOL

Now that I'm back from my recent NCRS events, and I got my head above water on some of the customer work.......I had a chance to get back on to the 62. The carb is back from Rob Kunz, so I could get that installed and lay down a final tune. I'm thrilled with how the car runs!:3gears:

Did some small tweaks as well. Lubed up the window regulators, lubed up the heater cables, and threw a hundred miles on in the last couple of days.

In the next few weeks, I'll get the car photographed and see what I am going to do with it. I've really been enjoying the car.......hate to see it go away:hmmm:

Looks good, Tim. Your driving weather should be great for taking that on the roads of Minocqua.

While I have been so busy with a 71 LT-1 that came in, all I have been doing is cranking on the miles in the 62. In that time, the tach gave up the ghost. It was starting to get a little noisy, and then one day Tracey and I were out for a ride......it got pissed. I came in early today to get it blown apart.

I had a tach in stock for the car (from another 62). I'm sending the speedo off the Roger at Speedometer Solutions in Milwaukee to give it the once over. It would wander around from 60 to 100:grin:

Must be the 60's genre, the one in my '66 Chevelle will shoot up to 100+ every once in a while too...

A great car that keeps getting better!

“It would wander around from 60 to 100”

I tell cops this all the time!!

The speedometer came back yesterday:)

I came in early to get back on the 62. A new fuel gauge had to be installed (it did not come apart nicely) so before I stabbed the cluster back in, I tested that. Notice the grade school science project lol

Right on with the resistance I had in the rheostat

Clean the speedo lens, face, and internals

Reassemble and install......

When the tach went to lunch, it took out the NOS tach cable. Actually, the casing was too long (I damn near could have used it for a driveshaft loop). But at the time the reproduction cable was on back order. Fast forward to today, the correct length cable is available, but the internal cable appears to be too short. So, I'm waiting for an insert kit and I'll make a cable that is a bit longer.

Tim >>> professional at work on another classic. Looks fantastic!

I’m assuming, what looks like a pliable plastic lid cut in half for protecting the vinyl dash during the R&R. Great idea.

I do know I have a stack of those from old coffee containers I use for everything. Handy in the shop.

Chris.
