All I can say is "WOW" what a great event. This was my 1st time, and surely not my last. It was great to meet many of the members.
Thanks to the Clary's and the other members for such a fantastic event. Grady |

We have viewed a few hours of what we shot and will be posting a short preview on youtube this week.
It was a really great time getting to know more of you this year and special thanks to Tom for letting Dave make a few passes in the Nova. He was really excited to top his best time in the car running a et12.34@ 112mph. I will post a link on the msg board when the short is ready. Re: Some more SCR XI pics...
What can you say about the sYc 11. They never cease to amaze me. I have never missed a single one, and I can tell you each one has, or has had its share of great moments and people, this one was no different. Its always great to see old friends return and meeting and making new ones. I really enjoyed my time with Grady Birch and Mike Angelo, to guys really geared to what I like for sure. Meeting Les Quam and seeing the 70 B/M again after an eight year lay-off was very exciting. Having to opportunity to show off three new restorations from SCW is always great. I can think of no better place.
It looks like Wednesday may be the new Thursday. More people than I ever remember showing up early. That's serious car show junkies right there. As usual the Clarys did a fine job of running the event, and I heard of NO problems at all. Thats just a testament to how great the system works. Neat cars, interesting people all with the same ideas in one place. Thanks once again for a great event, and I hope all is in oreder for SCR XII...BKH https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif |
Re: Some more SCR XI pics...
I also had a great time... After 11 years of this, its become as much of a "friend reunion" as it is a supercar reunion. In all honesty, aside from PM's, e-mails, and posts, the SCR is the only time each year I really get to spend time hanging out with many of the people from this site I consider my friends. It's almost getting to the point that I look forward to seeing and speaking with so many people I have a hard time getting around to everyone I want to in the 2 or 3 short days we're all there...my apologies to anyone I didn't get a chance to chat with! The cars this year were great, lots of new ones I haven't seen before, some great new resto's by the SCW guys, Schoeney and others, some neat unrestored survivor cars I have never seen before, and some new faces that were SCR first timers.
I had fun doing the charity auction and helping out the ARS folks with the video filming. Kudos to all of you who donated or bid on items, as it's always a good feeling to know you helped a worthy cause. Friday Nite Go-Carts with the Supercar Workshop gang was a blast... nothing like trading a little paint among friends...I say it every year, but I'll say it again, if you don't go anywhere else all summer you need to come to this event. It's totally unlike anything else you've ever experienced, and you won't go home disappointed. Thanks for Brian and Joe for once again helping to transport my memorabilia display halfway across the country and back, and hats off to the Clary's for putting on such a consistently great show, year after year. I can't wait til SCR #12... https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif -JB |

Re: Some more SCR XI pics...
I have been going to car events for 35 years (yeah I know, I am old) and I don't think I ever had more fun than this past weekend. Incredible cars and really warm, kind people. Unlike many other shows with rare and high dollar cars these guys actually drive the snot out of their cars and enjoy them. No gossiping and backstabbing just a fantastic group of people and cars and an extremely well organized event.
One of the things I enjoy about muscle car world is looking at the top restorers work. Todays present day restorers are creating handbuilt cars that equal the quality of any cars ever built. I had been wanting to see Brian Henderson's cars in person and hoped to have a chance to meet him and perhaps talk to him. He is a high profile restorer and you never know how accessible they will be especially to a complete stranger? I think he spent a couple of hours discussing his work with me and answering all my clueless Ford guy questions. His restorations are about the best I have ever seen and that includes the top Ford and Mopar guys. Just when I thought the top Ford/Mopar guys were meticulous when it comes to authenticity Brian takes it to another level. I thoroughly enjoyed getting an up close look at his artistry. His latest triple black COPO Camaro is extraordinary arguably one of the best ever done? I had been reading about the Clary's in the magazines for years and couldn't wait to meet them amd watch them race their cars. Same goes for the guys with the other well known cars. It was amazing. Colin had been encouraging me to come to a SCR for years telling me it was his favorite event of the year. He was 100% correct, just a near perfect event. Special thanks to Darren for helping me out and Cana for hauling my car down from Milwaukee. I will be there next year. |
Re: Some more SCR XI pics...
Very fun show!! Awesome lineup of cars, some of the best I have ever seen!! I have to say I was in Nova Heaven with BKH's car, Tommy K's, The Fred Gibb Nova and of course the Dueces.. Was nice meeting some of the members here and finally puting a face with the names... THANKS FOR A GOOD TIME!!

Re: Some more SCR XI pics...
Our sincere thanks to the Clary's and all those who helped out, for another great reunion. Not only are the cars cool to see, but the opportunity to visit with good friends, and talk shop with the best in the business guys like Frank, Fran,Joe and Brian make this event a can't miss afair.
We very much appreciate the opportunity to help bbbenny with his "back in the day" project, and did our best to keep it in the Nickey tradition. And the Blue Mule, is an extrodinary story. We felt from the beginning that this truly was a COPO, but also know, that in todays market, and on this site, that documentation is everything.Alot of folks have worked very hard to get the story of the Mule from the day it came off the show room floor. Now with finding James Hager, the story's pretty complete. It was an honor to debut the Mule at the reunion. You folks being the 1st to see it anywhere. And thanks to Alan Forman for the opportunity to bring it down. The reunion rocks! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...iggthumpup.gif |

[/ QUOTE ] What I meant to say was I am eternally grateful to Colin for selling me the Phase III Motion Camaro, and owe him a debt of gratitude for being such a supportive friend. He made me go to SCR11 and not only hauled my car there but also got it prepped, aligned, and filled with race gas before it left Milwaukee. We had some minor teething issues with the B-M car at the track but with Colin and Darren's help we were able to get it all sorted out. But most of all I'd like to thank Colin for showing me how to drive a go-kart so aggressively that I was ejected from the track Saturday night. Also, a big thanks to George Pappas for coming up with the Tier/ Level system of rating Muscle and Super cars...had I only known about it sooner perhaps my collection would contain at least one Tier Level One car and not just all these Tier Level Two cars! Oh, and I highly reccomend the chocolate butt cake my main man Phil and I were served at Bandana's BBQ. See you guys next year. Colin Rules. Best regards, Less Quam |

Re: Some more SCR XI pics...
Hey Less,
Glad you had a good time at SCR11. As always, the pleasure of your company was more than thanks enough for all of my hard work. Oh, Cana said she is sorry about bashing the door in on the B-M car when she unloaded it yesterday, on a holiday, in 90 degree heat. I'm sure she can haul it somewhere to get it fixed before Vettefest. Just send her your credit card info so she can charge the repairs (and the shipping) to you. Nice job on the go-karts! Shake and Bake, baby! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/grin.gif Colin |
Re: Some more SCR XI pics...
What a Great Event! If you have never been to one you simply need to make time and Check it out, for yourself. You will not be disappointed. The cars, people as well as the experience are "Level One".
It is always special to see old friends and meet new ones too. There are just too many people to thank, so thanks to everyone who attended, brought out cars and cool vintage stuff and/or helped in any way to make SCR XI the success, which it was. See you all at SCR XII!! |

Re: Some more SCR XI pics...
Less,
I forgot to thank you for being so supportive of my business over the years and buying 223 cars from me including the 16 in this year alone. You are a true patriot while most others are shying away from large high dollar discretionary spending in the worst economic conditions since the 1930s you have kept the faith and perhaps are single handedly keeping the American economy afloat. In return for your business, friendship and loyalty over the years allow me to pick up the tab for hauling your Camaro to Collinsville ( a town named after me by the way) it is the least I can do in return for everything you have done for me over the years. Oh and by the way thanks for buying one of my books at the auction for 650 dollars when they are selling on ebay for 49 cents. Yours truly, Colin Corner |
Re: Some more SCR XI pics...
Why Colin thank you so much for the generous gesture it is much appreciated. Tell Cana not to worry about the damage to the Camaro just watching her repeatedly pull holeshots on you at the drag strip was worth all the trouble. Wow, talk about an old fashioned butt whipping she really handed it to you all day Friday, then I schooled you you Saturday night at the kiddie go cart track before you paid the manager to throw me out to save you from further humiliation. Tough weekend for the Colinator.
Best regards, Les shake and bake Quam |
