Galen will "make those claims" if you ask. This, of course, is based on factual info he has retrieved from the Chrysler records. He can pull from his database drivetrain, color, option combos and if you request a "page 2" to your Chrysler Registry letter, he will spell out the rarity of your car in writing. [/ QUOTE ] If you read Steves response above, you'll see this is not correct. No claims can be made for "1 of 1" status except in very rare (pun not intended) circumstances. If a certain percentage of an option put against a total production equals 1, then you may have that. But then there's the rate of error, which could mean there's another one out there. And then there's Canadian and Export production, which has its own documentation. That's why there's more than one 1970 Hemi Coronet R/T ragtop. In this case, there are at least three. |

That is how we ended up with 11 1971 Hemicuda ragtops of the original 7 thought to be produced. (7 US production cars + 1 Canadian and 3 Export cars) https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif |

No, I *was* agreeing with you. I was using your post as evidence that the other gentleman was not correct. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif

I retract my current statement then. I agree with what you weren't saying, which was disagreeing with me. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/hmmm.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/grin.gif

Re: one of one RAIV 69 GTO conv??
Here's an ebay auction of a '69 428 SCJ Mach 1 that shows a deluxe Marti report like the ones available for Fords '67-'73.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1969-MUST...1QQcmdZViewItem If you spring for the Deluxe, they will always try to get down to the hallowed "1 of 1" but IMO they stretch a little. I usually stop reading after we've distilled out the engine/trans and interior/exterior color combo. My friend's '67 R-code Fairlane 500XL got down to 3 black/black XL's with 427's and then the final statement became "only one of those cars had tinted glass, THIS IS THAT CAR". This Mach 1 had to go through several more levels to get to the fact that it was the one that had NO OTHER OPTIONS. Kinda funny. Thoughts? (other than the dream that Chevy USA could have kept similar records). |
Re: one of one RAIV 69 GTO conv??
Frank,I bought it out of the local trader and kept it for a while. It was painted Warwick blue when I had it and the guy had it for over 20 years. sold local to us also. Like an idiot because i dont like convertibles I took it to carlisle and volo bought it there. If i told you how little i got for it you would be as sick as me. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/frown.gif

Re: one of one RAIV 69 GTO conv??
