Kim your point was well taken, supported by most, and it just makes sense. There are only a finite # of parts available why not use them on real cars.

simply, the repros with those date correct parts bring more money

Kim, you cannot play nice when a post gets deleted then suddenly re-appears from nowhere! Nothing taken personally either https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif. BTW I don't smoke. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/grin.gif While working for a very prominent street rod & custom car builder in 1997 I learned a valuable lesson. The $300k street rod we were building was getting a ZL1 for motivation, not just any ZL1 but one from an original ZL1 Camaro! I tried to convince him not to use that engine as to the value of it. That is when he proceeded to remove all the numbers and casting flash from the block with a die grinder! He told me "now it is ready to be sent to the polishers." That was when I learned that these rare parts do not mean a thing to anyone outside our little world of musclecars. Since then I have changed my way of thinking, the person that is willing to spend the money will get the stuff he wants no matter what it is going to be used on no matter how rare it may be.

Frank, I had friends at that show and they all say when the awards were given out the COPO body was 2nd and then the crap hit the fan. They thought that was an injustice to the owner of the Yenko. I do not know if they fixed the problem at the show or after but your car did get a $15 award for a $60k restoration. From what I understand from a friend of mine that came up from TN was an entrant at that show, your car was in the Vintage Race Car category when he looked at it or something like that and got moved into the Supercar category sometime after judging ended. So to me the COPO body DID beat the Yenko like they announced at the awards presentation. This post will probably get deleted like my other one did earlier because it doesn't stroke everyone the same but I don't care. Nothing against your car as freinds of mine that were there said it was a nice restoration and they thought you got beat just like the Yellow L89 that didn't win. But my point is that just because a Yenko shows up at a show, no matter who's it is, it does not automatically qualify for an award. Supercar kid said it the best, [ QUOTE ]
<font color="purple"> If you're upset your real Supercar got beat by a clone at a show, then you should likely go home and shine on your Supercar until it's as fluffy as the clone, or reconsider what the $4 trophy the clone took home instead, really means to you.

How the hell can an unfinished car be judged anyway ??

Sounds like someone did not have their facts correct. Originally I thought this was firsthand information that was based on facts...oh well.

i don't enter car shows anymore becouse of the politics involved it just makes me mad when an inferior car beats mine over some judges preference. However i will enter charity car shows as proceeds go to a good cause. Why should i put my $100k car in a show so that they can charge me for stanchons, power, carpet, etc., and then charge people $10 at the door that i don't share in, for a CHANCE to win a $20 trophy. It's a lesson in futility, i have better things to do with my time and money. Not saying i will never enter one again as you never know what the future holds, but for now i'll let other people enter. I know alot of great cars that are sitting in gargages that never get shown for this same reason.

We have not touched your post but feel free to do your posting elsewhere since you seem sure we are the Gestapo. This is kinda like the guy that is sure we are against him since he is too stupid to figure out how to login.

If the $15 trophy is no big deal, then why did you even bring this whole thing up?
