Re: Pure Stock Drags Stanton 2014
Thanks for posting pictures of Tim. His car made it into the 11's. Pulled heavy tech, came out of the tent, and promptly ran 12.05.
I was one of the 4 '69 H/O 's but I managed to break on Friday. Will back together and ready to roll next year! |
Re: Pure Stock Drags Stanton 2014
Rusty,
Could you explain what heavy tech is vs "normal" tech? Thanks Verne |
Re: Pure Stock Drags Stanton 2014
The Champagne COPO is a December of 1968 built car and although it is a very nice looking and fast car I beleive it is a COPO tribute car. It was built several years ago and raced at the FAST and Factory Stock event at Martin. Back then it didn't have stripes and had Rally wheels. Please correct me if this is not the same car.
Normal tech is just a visual inspection of the car for safety items and illegal visual modifications. The heavy tech includes a compression check. |

Great pics. I remember reading about the champagne COPO tribute car on v8buick.com. Pretty sure it is a clone.

You are correct. Original small block car, stripes and wheel change done by present owner. |

Pair of 421 Super Duty's. The 63 popped a head gasket the third time down the track. Both are fresh builds. Neither car were able to hook up the power with the 8.00x 14 OEM skinnies. Third gear, mid track burnouts on demand!
