It was 1988 and a newer version of that car.

Re: 63 Galaxy 427, 2x4
Don't touch the body...just get it running and drive it as is!. Get a couple of the Competition Proven By Holman Moody decals to cover the holes and drive it. What a car. What a shame. They honestly don't rust that bad in Nova Scotia and we can taste the salt in the air. |
Re: 63 Galaxy 427, 2x4
Does anyone know how many R-Code Fords and Mercury big cars were built in '63, '64, and '65?
Is there a publication with the Ford stats? Thanks, |
Re: 63 Galaxy 427, 2x4
From Mr. Stefina, who has a '64 R code Merc that runs low, low 13s and a '58 430/400 Merc that's just a tick slower...anyway:
R-code engines in 1963: 3857 R code 1038 Q code 3465 406 w/3x2 1157 406 w/4-barrel Best as I can tell from talking to him, you can't get exact on production figures, but extrapolate the info via percentages and engine build numbers...so your mileage may vary! |
Re: 63 Galaxy 427, 2x4
Rob, do you have any contact info for Mr. Stefina? I'd love to talk to him about my '64 R-Code Montclair.
Thanks, |
Re: 63 Galaxy 427, 2x4
Ha! I just got off the phone with him a few minutes ago...I'll shoot you a PM with his contact info...
