Re: '69 B/M white RS Camaro
Spoke w/ my buddy that tried to buy the car. He got a copy of the letter, dated 5/26/96, confirming that it's real. He was also told that Mecum bought it. Personally, I don't know if this is true or not. Guess we'll see....

Re: '69 B/M white RS Camaro
Hi Performance CARS, November 1969.
Great issue, '70 Musclecar previews, Boss 429 hop ups, Dodge Daytona Road Test, plus the Hone-O-Drive article with the Motion-ized COPO. Article says owner Marc Cohen drove the 4.56 geared car back to his home in Ohio from New York, and referred to it as a Phase III car. Doesn't really say if it was a Baldwin purchased car or if he brought it in to be Phase III tuned. Either way, you'd think Joel and company would have noticed a non-SS factory big block car as being something out of the ordinary..... |

Re: '69 B/M white RS Camaro
OK - Here is the "rest of the story" on the car this post was started on:
I was the buyer on the white "Baldwin Motion" car , previously in Louisiana. I purchased it through a lead from Mecum, I was the buyer and not Mecum. I was provided a poor copy of the 5/24/1996 letter from "Joel Rosen". The seller was supposed to have the original with the car. Yesterday, my associate went to pick up the car in person, with a bag of cash as was requested by the seller. The original letter was now not present and the seller(s) offered no guarantee that they could get it. This concerned me greatly as you would imagine. At 10 pm last night, I decided to do my due diligence and told my associate to grab a hotel and tell the sellers we would finish the deal in the morning, because I wanted to research the origins of this letter. Mr. Joel Rosen was kind enough to look at the copy I had via fax. Within minutes, Joel called me back and declared the letter was not only a forgery, but a bad one at that! He absolutely guaranteed the car is NOT real, nor is the letter. Needless to say, my money and empty trailer is heading back to Milwaukee as we speak. SO, in an effort to save others from the money and trouble I have wasted on this fraudulent "Baldwin Motion Phase III", I am making this post. Please spread the word. The car is a white 69 Camaro, VIN 124379L501461. And, to further document, the NICB report is BLANK. This car is a UFO! Hope this helps. Joel Rosen has said he is happy to confirm any details if people are still skeptical. Best regards, Colin Comer |

Colin, thanks for posting that. My friend's relieved that he didn't spend that kind of $$ on a fake. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif

Re: '69 B/M white RS Camaro
Colin, glad to hear you did not get burned on the car. One red flag was it being a LOS car which would certainly decrease the possibility of it being sold new in Long Island.
Thanks for sharing with everyone the information, so someone else does not get taken. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif |
Re: '69 B/M white RS Camaro
Wasn't there a Camaro bought at auction a few years ago that was supposed to be a Motion car, it had a letter from Joel and turned out to be a fake (the letter and the car). For some reason I thought the car was a white RS car. It was posted here a few years and I believe a member bought it and did return it and get a refund. Could this be the same car?
