Re: Any Chi-Town members know Mancuso Chev. in Skokie?
I grew up not far from that dealership. Dated a girl that lived right around the corner from them and I'd stop over there quite a bit. In 1977, they were selling a used 1971 ZR1 Corvette that they ordered new. Now, a ZR1 was not available with luxury options like power windows and radio, but this one had these options and it was documented on the original window sticker. Mancuso Chevrolet special ordered the car and Chevrolet allowed it. It was silver/black leather with a hardtop. I visited with Rick on the car and certainly didn't have the $15,000 asking price.
On another note, Rick Mancuso just brokered (deal finalized Friday) the sale of a one owner, 2,300 mile 1969 L88. A local Austin, TX friend purchased the car from Rick Mancuso's Ferrari dealership. Here's a link, it has not been removed. Here's some pictures of the one owner, 2,300 mile L88. This car has the window sticker, POP and order invoice (scratched off the side pipes) http://www.lakeforestsportscars.com/...ail.cfm?id=353 |
