Re: Motion book

joe,
I am with you. I don't remember ever seeing them till 1970 I guess they could have been used very late in the 69 model year. You know for sure that Joel would have used them on the cars in the magazine articles if he had them at that time.

All I ever saw was the "SS427" impalla emblem till 1970 when the 454 came out. I think that may be why he had the Motion emblems made up.

When did he start using the Phase III decal's..?

Joe --------That's the same PhaseIII decal I have-----
I didn't know they were available, when I picked up the car ,the PhaseIII decals were on the hood scoop
Larry -------you are correct about the "MOTION" emblems---As I looked around the Chevelle before driving it home, I had asked Motion, didn't they have any kind of emblem to put on the car ---I was told to come back in several months as they were getting something made up----I went back several times and finally picked up a pair the first of the year in '70.I think they got them in late '69---------

Re: Motion book

Mixed up the dates a bit- COPO https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...s/confused.gif------I (was told) the Motion emblems were coming in late '69 ---------In early'70 I was getting ready to go to Boot Camp----When I got back--I had the OD installed late '70 , and in '71 I picked up MOTION finned valve covers with the Motion emblems----I'd would have to look thru my old mags and see when they were first advertised.------

If it is any help, My '70 Corvette GT was delivered on 1-71 and it had them on the hood by then.

Re: Motion book

I think I recall the Motion finned covers w/emblems were in the 69 catalog.

Re: Motion book

The only finned valve covers in the '69 car catalog were Micky Thompson---so far I did see a Motion emblem in a '71 Motion Mini catalog, which had to come out in '701/2---There is a VW with a 11/'70 lic. plate---I'll dig around some more later-----Gotta head out---maybe someone can help fill in the blanks

The Cal Custom finned covers were also used in 69, but most cars retained the stock chrome covers. I don't believe the Motion emblem existed prior to the 1970 calender year.

https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/shocked.gif I am just in awe that anyone can have that much collected information. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/worship.gif
I am also upset at myself https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...emlins/mad.gif that I never really saved any of the 'stuff' I remember to have had.

JoeG did your Chevelle have the stock valve covers when new or the M/T's?
