Re: Atlantic City Auction

Spent a couple of hours at AC yesteday (friday)looking over the Camaros and Chevelles, the 2 Yenko clones were poor IMHO, the yellow had yenko stripes w/ Z28 badges, the other was a Tricked out Pro Street car, neither car was made to look like an actual Yenko, just threw the stripe kit on.
Not many really nice Chevelles either, bunch of decent 396/350 70's, there was one 70 LS5, the guy was looking for offers ABOVE $60k, are you kidding me.???,swap meet/vendor corral was lame, just picked up my Bumpers and went home. Just my 2 cents.

------If you were referring to the well known wheel manufacturer as the owner of the COPO Camaro, make sure you check over the vehicle in question closely. He has had much litigation aimed at him over the years for a variety of reasons............Bill S

I just got back and I too was disappointed with the show. It was cool seeing Caroll Shelby and the cars that were on display.
That Yenko Chevelle was a clone? I thought that I saw a window sticker on the side?
As I was driving home on the AC Expressway I saw a Fathom Green Yenko Camaro on a flatbed heading towards the show. Couldn't tel if it was real or not.
Not the greatest show this year but it was nice to get out after all of this snow.

Yea, I guess it was nice to get out here in the northeast. Crappy weather!! Was the parking any better today, or did they make you park as far as the casinos? After attending that show, I see that the junk just never stops coming. It is a shame that our hobby seems to be getting over run with bogus junk.More and more the muscle cars keep getting junkier and junkier. How can you advertise a frame off, with all the pictures and not replate the wing window or sand the door jams. Ground up, frame off, those words are to loosely used today. When there is a nice car among the crowd, the price is insane. This is only because auctions like Barrett-Jackson bring in all the non-car people to buy Don Johnsons car and pick-up truck for the price of a small house. That pick-up should not have even been there. Sorry, just venting! There are truly more important things I can worry about.

Re: Atlantic City Auction

well the yenko clones were so so.the tubbed camaro and the yellow one both had several issues with them.i looked at alot of cars and ill say quality was down.
the nicest car i saw there was a black 396 chevelle for 60k?
there were a few camaros that were decent but most had runs or cracks in the paint ect.
seeing caroll shelby was atreat, the old boy looks like he is getting tired and im glad i got to get withen 10 feet from him.the line was long and i didnt want to wait an hour but i probably should have.
if anybody went thrue the vendor section did they see the custom car with the pontooned fenders ect.it was in primer sitting next to the purple scrape?car.i stopped to look and he flipped the hood/fenders frontward to reveal a viper v10 in it.i was in love.if anybody wants to see one goto www.decorides.com
back to the muscle cars.the yenko replica?went to 29 on the block and i think it sold.there were a few sweet 427 vettes there also.paying 2 dollars for a can of pepsi is crazy isnt it?
well the show was so so but i had an excuse to eye up some decent girls/lol

I too was there all day today. No problem parking...got there at 7:45, pulled right in the convention center lot ( under cover) parked within 20 yards of the entrance. That was about the best part of this SHOW

What JUNK! some of these guys should be shot for even putting price tags on these cars...and worse yet, the amount people I over hear talking about " wow...that's nice, or soo sweet...." It's no wonder so many guys get ripped off....seems few people really know what they are looking at, or what to look for... a shame.

More 70 chevelles than you can shake a stick at...most are as usual...RED. Very little to be impressed with in AC.

Good news though....much of this trash will be on display at CARLISLE very soon

Now Now boys...don't go gettin your undies in a bundle I know and like many RED 70 Chevelles, including RED ALERT and Rick's and many others......just pointing out that there was an abundance of Red 70's at the show...would have been nice to see a few in other colors is all.

It's all good.
