Found this in Chevrolet High Performance July 1988. C.K.Spurlock was the owner. http://i436.photobucket.com/albums/q...urlocksZ11.jpg http://i436.photobucket.com/albums/q...ocksZ11001.jpg [/ QUOTE ] This car is now owned by Jacquie (Zee28) on this site... See HERE!!! |
Re: 69 Camaro L78 Z11
Thanks Bruce ! When reading the article I got the impression that it was a L78 car.

Re: 69 Camaro L78 Z11
Cool topic!.
So where'd the 'less than 100 Z11 L78's" production # in the Spurlock article originate from?. While we're at it, what's the real story on L78 Z10 coupes?. Does anyone know if any were actually built and/or if Vin 124379N633025 advertised online is a genuine L78 Z10 car?. It kinda' reads like it's a documented Z10 car but w/ the L78 added?. http://www.autotraderclassics.com/find/v...sationId=198636 https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif ~ Pete -------------------- I like real cars best...the REAL real ones! |
Re: 69 Camaro L78 Z11
Anders...That's my car! I have a couple of magazines that it was featured in when Spurlock owned it but have never seen that article/photo. Would you consider emailing me the complete article??

iluv69s, . [/ QUOTE ] So are there actual documented L-89 Indy's out there?? That would defineitely be cooler than an L-78 car!!! [/ QUOTE ] [/ QUOTE ] Agree, but lets not forget about the 69 L89 Z11 There out there! [/ QUOTE ] We know of at least 2! 2 L89 Z11's were built for the race in 69. Both had cast iron heads to improve reliability to maintain pace speeds of 130 mph. Mario Andretti was givin a Z11 after he won the race.I think the whereabouts of this particular car in unknown. |
Re: 69 Camaro L78 Z11
I know of two also...
One is an unrestored survivor the other is a fully restored car. The survivor is a Z11 L89 with JL8 set up...same owner since 1982. Andretti's car left the country sometime in the 80s. To my knowledge, nobody has heard of or seen the car since. |
Re: 69 Camaro L78 Z11
It can't get much better than a '69 Pace Car with L89 and JL8. That would pretty much be close to the ultimate Camaro convertible.
I still miss my Pace Car and would love another. |

I've seen the docs on it and I don't think it was originally a L78. Maybe a L35... There are some real L78 Z10's out there. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/smile.gif |
Re: 69 Camaro L78 Z11
What's a Z-10 L-78 worth? I know where one is and can be bought but have no clue on it's value.
