A 1955 Mercedes 300SL was of the many eye-catching builds on display. The Gullwing widebody is built on a modern Tesla Model 3 chassis, which was modified to fit the slim profile of the classic 300 SL. All the Model 3 systems from the original car work, including the sensor cameras, parking sensors, self-driving features, infotainment screen, and climate controls.

I always loved these photos. Here you see an older gentleman plying his trade - probably a coveted job earned by his high senority. Compare his age to the young men throwing front bumpers around or wrestling engines and bodies into position in other photos.

I thought he looked like somebody's grandpa. Now I'm probably older than he was at the time of the photo.

Still quite a bit of variation, even with the Buegler tool, especially in the way the stripes are terminated at the rear end cap, or differences in the way the fender and door gaps were accomplished (some plants the gaps were taped; others they were not).

This just makes me even more impressed with the original C2 design.

The slightest change in the flanks, or a different windshield angle, or a wheel with less dish - and it's just not the same.

Here's a picture of pin stripes being put on a '66 Caprice. Looks like the same rig/process as Pontiac.

New Chevelle 70/SS

Quote:

Trans Am Worldwide's new Chevelle 70/SS perfectly blends classic retro styling and modern flair. Its design pays homage to its iconic predecessors, the Chevelle models of the 1970s, featuring a bold grille, muscular lines, and striking curves.

The design captures the essence of a golden era of American muscle cars. In addition, this new model has multiple contemporary elements that help it stand out as a modern-day masterpiece. Trans Am Worldwide's seamless integration of modernity with retro touches makes this new Chevelle 70/SS a head-turner.

The new Chevelle 70/SS has eight heritage color options: Forest Green, Cortez Silver, Tuxedo Black, Autumn Gold, Classic White, Hugger Orange, Phantom Blue, and Cranberry Red. In addition to these heritage colors, Trans Am Worldwide also offers ten modern colors.

TAW also allows buyers to request any color they would prefer on the Chevelle. Buyers can also opt for painted or chrome bumpers. In addition, TAW uses a full carbon fiber body, helping lower the weight of the Chevelle 70/SS.
