----This car popped up in southern Illinois years and years ago belonging to a Corvette rebuilder/restorer by the name of Lafferty. I can't remember who bought it from him unrestored. The Dykstra's will remember him. Not a particularly good guy. He procured the NOS blue leather seat covers that are in the car today (it was an original leather car with bad interior). He took advantage of some of our friends over a long period.....Bill S

Was it in that bad of shape when found? I can't imagine someone letting such a RARE Corvette get in poor shape with these options. So I assume Chris P. bought it after it was restored, or did he restore it? If I remember correctly, Mecum put a Value of $650,000.00 - $700,000.00 on it when it was listed in the auction catalog it was last sold at. I do not remember what it last sold for. Bill

----Bill,,,I believe (not sure of this after all this time) that the interior had been dyied black for one thing. It definetly needed a resto. Remember that this was back in the mid 70's. Values were low even for great cars. I bought my white 400AC coupe in the same time frame with 14 thousand original miles and more options for $8,000, and people thought I was crazy! Chris bought it from 2 brothers out of New Yawk restored and sold it eventually to a Florida car dealer owner who liked black. I found that guy a really low mileage 66 black-black 350 hp Nova that he bought and then stiffed me on the finders fee.....Bill S
