Quote:

A millionaire luxury car owner wrecked his $750,000 Porsche Mirage GT supercar while speeding around the deserted streets of Manhattan while allegedly high on drugs.

Benjamin Chen, 33, lost control of the ultra-rare super car at 7.30 am on Tuesday and plowed into a parked car.

Several stunned New Yorkers looked on as Chen tried to drive the car away despite heavy damage to the body and tires.

Ford Mustangs have developed a bit of a meme-tastic reputation over the last few years, thanks to drivers speeding out of cars and coffee meetups and crashing. It's a case of those owners pushing their cars past their own abilities. Unfortunately, a recent incident on Angeles Crest Highway in California won't help shake the stereotype. A week ago, the driver of a Grabber Blue Mustang Boss 302 decided to ignore shelter-in-place orders and go for a drive in the canyons—sadly, they wound up sending their car, themselves, and a passenger 400 feet down a steep embankment.

If you haven't driven Angeles Crest Highway it should be on your bucket list.

Yes. You could easily spend all day (or a week) just going in and out of a driveway.

Or - the "city course". Was a small series of tight twists and turns laid out on an asphalt pad. You would negotiate these tight turns lock-to-lock at a crawl. All day, every day, until the test cycle was complete.

I think you would have liked "rock cycles"*. You've probably done a few and not known that's what they were!

K

*Rock Cycles = smash the accelerator to the floor. Put vehicle in drive, then reverse, drive, reverse for a predetermined number of hits.

Also, what's with the body color painted wheels again? Pretty sure hubcaped cars had black painted rims. Dog dish wheels were painted body color, right?
