It's very similar to coming "of age" during the muscle car era. How can we NOT be addicted to that lifestyle ???

…. nice stache. |
I blame my love of cars on 3 things: being born and living my whole life in California (the start of hot rodding after WWII), being a teen in the 1960's, and being of Italian heritage partly (what Italian doesn't love cars). I'm dating myself here, but I never had Hot Wheel cars growing up. My sister and I always played with Matchbox Series cars, the original all metal ones made in Lesney, England. I still have all of them.

Did you call the phone number ???
Be interesting to see who answered. Kind of like "867-5309"... |

When they all come on at once, like that, it means your nearly new turbo 4 cylinder just suffered the catastrophic failure and seized up......

I would imbed it, but don't know how. BTW, this does not apply to my wife, Sherri. I am sure the same applies for many of you. |

.....and if the tv went down for a week or two, we just found other crap to do....crazy world it was.
|
I don't remember our TV back in the 1950's and early '60's having rabbit ears, but I know we had 2 outdoor antennas, one high up in a large cedar tree and another attached to a base near the corner of our house. We had a switch inside the house near the TV to switch to one or the other of the antennas. We only got the 3 networks NBC, CBS, and ABC back then. One antenna brought in 2 of the stations and we had to switch to the other to get the 3rd channel.
Our first phone was a heavy black one that sat on a table near the TV. Our number was something like 574W, and it was a party line. You had to contact an operator to let them know what number you wanted to call and then didn't know who might be listening in to the conversation. I wouldn't trade growing up in those days for today ever. |

Been that way for a long time. Criminals have more rights and better defense than their victims.
