Rare car. The claim is 1 of 7 and I can believe that.

Never seen a 2nd Gen Z28 in this color combo. It's a 72.

# 7 is interesting. Wonder who this was. We had a T Clary at Bowling Green last weekend too... ?
AND the stock "appearing" tires are also FAR from what came on these originally. Between them being purpose built drag race tires and a track prep that will pull your shoes off, that is how these cars pull front wheels and run in the 9's.

I'm not a Red fan, but there was one on the delivery floor at the Museum last weekend and I have to admit, the color is "eye catching" to say the least. It's what we old guys would have called candy apple, but the exact name escapes me now. Anyway, it does stand out in a crowd.

They look stock but are far from it. Motors are punched out. Weight reduced from hidden areas. And they are running on stock tires - no slicks allowed

About 10 years ago I was thinking about "what's next" with my race program and toyed with moving over to the FAST category.

I was going 9.80's at the time and felt like I had some room to "give away" some performance with a milder cam, exhaust manifolds and returning to the steel hood and bumper.

My car came with H70-15 Goodyear radials on an 8" Corvette rally wheel. With the long overhang at the rear I felt like I could probably be pretty competitive.

Sadly - I think I've missed my window of opportunity.
