Re: Hot Rod Power Tour

Left EnglishTown this morning at 6:50 EST and pulled into the Driveway at 6:03 CST..........Overview of the week....Again "Great Weather"(a few sprinkles while driving).....Great Venues (No traffic problems).....Great Routes and Scenery........Met a lot of Neat people.....The Chevelle didn't miss a beat....and with the New Alumitech Radiator Assy.......the Temp Gauge never moved (AC, Traffic at Disney, etc)didn't matter.....no cooling issues
I do have to say that Charley and "The Mule" are somewhat of a "Legend"(well deserved) with the Power Tour crowd, to have a car like that and drive it all the way is way off the "Cool Meter" chart.......
There was one nasty accident involving a Power Tour car (El Camino) where a local made a left turn in front of the Camino which resulted in a head on collision.....nobody was hurt seriously but the El Camino appeared to be totaled
Will I do it again next year.............You Betcha........Anyhow.....heres the starting pic from Orlando and the finishing picture in the driveway with the bugs all over and dirty

It seems that next years Power Tour will start on the East coast (not Englishtown) as it conflicts with NHRA next year and finish in the SouthWest somewhere..... https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/hmmm.gif

AHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! Even a "Trained" woman https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/haha.gif couldn't deal with cooking for that many people........at the lunch stop in Ga.........they went thru 3-4000 Hot Dogs

It would be cool to stop at Route 66 Dragway in Joliet, IL. My neighborhood isn't big enough to handle that many cars though. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...iggthumpup.gif

Re: Hot Rod Power Tour

Someone mentioned that the Wisconsin stop might be in Racine. I doubt Racine could handle that many visitors at one time but it is close to a drag strip.

Re: Hot Rod Power Tour

For those that have been on previous power tours I am interested to know how the number of cars compared to previous years. I have heard figures like 5,000 to 8,000 cars come on tour. I just wondered if fuel costs lowered the overall numbers. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif Thanks for the pictures.

I think last year was about 2000 cars that went the whole way. This year seemed like less.
