That hood ground only came on 4 speaker Stereo radio equipped cars.
Mono radios did not have it during 1970.

Though Rick is right and all the different literature will back this up, oddly enough there are two things I have NEVER found on an LS6, that radio ground or the valve cover to firewall grounds. 396 cars, yes. LS6's? Never. Don't know why just stating what I have found. Engine size should have NOTHING to do with either one of those but evidently it does.

You know believe it or not my mono radio ls-6 car did come with ground on it. I wonder if it was an Atlanta plant application deal( where my car was made). Geoff

Right Pete.

I was at a chevelle show in Buffalow Ny a few years ago and
there was a beautiful 70 chevelle ss convertible that had a built sheet
that showed an eletro tip option when the car was ordered.
I oferd the owner the complete Electro-tip parts. HE DECLINED.

I cant imagine the owner of this restored chevelle refusing to reinstall this
super rare option.
Baffled

In answer to the original post.......

Soooooooo.....You've never seen a light watch option before?

Here it is.... out of a 70 Caprice.

Not sure what's in the box, but there's openings for small rodents to hop in and spin the wheel to activate it.

I can take a pic of some aluminum 60 315HP fuelie heads I have. Few were made, most were destroyed. Few made it on cars, and were recalled back. It was not until 61, they were released in cast iron form. May be too old of stuff for this thread though.

Someone at GM put that paint on there.. I 'think' these were the first forms, of the double hump heads, that we all came to love on 283s and 327s...not sure, but I think so. The first 461x heads. You did not see another aluminum head on a chevy until 67, and it was a big block. Note on the last picture, how GM tech milled out the valve seats on one cylinder so you could not use again. Easily repaired today.

I think a few of them (2?) made it out the door is what I read once. I also heard a small amount made it out (11 seems right) and they got them back on a recall, but some did not make it back as many vettes got stolen back in the day. In an case, they it was very low numbers. The guy with the aluminum heads would be the best source for all of this.
