I believe someone was looking for pics of 1968 Race-Hemi cars a few years ago. This is a well known car but the pic might be new since it was published in a Swedish magazine ? Pomona Winter Nationals 1969 http://i436.photobucket.com/albums/q...illBagshaw.jpg |

Re: Mopars can be cool!
Nice Larry. So that '72 is YOURS. What a find. Any story on it?
|
Re: Mopars can be cool!
Not much of a story I have owned it 17 years after searching for a 72 6 pack Road Runner for years. I have always liked 72's the most so the ultimate is a 72 6 pack car. Just my luck there is so far only 1. I got lucky I guess in my searches and who I made friends with to help me out.

Re: Mopars can be cool!
What are your plans for it. What is the tranny, rear, options?
|
Re: Mopars can be cool!
It is an Auto with an 8-3/4 rearend I am probably going to run a 3.55 gear. I would really like to restore it just getting my lazy but in gear is the problem. I have most of the NOS parts I need since I have been collecting 72 RR parts for about 25 years

Re: Mopars can be cool!
Keep us posted Larry. We'd love to have you take us along on a photographic restoration of this rare beast.

Here is my original '63 Plymouth Sport Fury Super Stock 426 Max Wedge mostly original unrestored car. Being stored in a barn for about 37 years it's a little rough round the edges but overall in great shape. It's a rare Red on Red factory manual floor shift 3 speed stick car that's never been cut up or modified. Fully documented in the Darell Davis book, has ALL of the rare original Max Wedge parts intact and runs and drives like an beast! It's now been mechanically redone and the body is pretty much all original with a lot of "patina".

Re: Mopars can be cool!
Beautiful Eric! What a find you have there. What is your rear gear ratio? Have you contacted Chrysler Historical for your car's factory broadcast punch card? Can you share some more shots of the interior and undercarriage? Was the car raced? Mileage? Thanks!!

I'm waiting to hear back from Chry Hist for the IBM card. It is an original 3.91 rear end car but has a 3.23 in it now. I have the 3.91 to put back into it. Mileage is 25K. Only thing not original in the interior are the front bucket seat covers and the headliner. The underside is just, well, all original except for a new correct repro Max Wedge exhaust system. I suspect the car was street raced but no signs of any modifications or abuse that most Max Wedge cars were subjected to. |
Re: Mopars can be cool!
----63 Sport Furys are a particular favorite of mine. Had a really nice 383 powerpack, copper and black one back in the late 70s that was just a great car......Bill S

Wait till he sees that piece of crap..

Re: Mopars can be cool!
My son just received the Bee from Reliable. I am in Finland and have to rely on pics and video. An awesome piece of crap Charlie. Thanks and much appreciated. The documentation is incredible right down to the Gulf Oil Change sticker and receipt for 8 track installation. When it comes to survivors very few are better. PS. Anyone who thought about buying this and didn't...Thanks, you missed a fantastic piece of automotive history.

Re: Mopars can be cool!
Here's my 69 GTX. Nothing crazy, 440 Super Commando, Hemi 4 speed, 3.54 Dana rear. F5 green, green interior, green vinyl top. Ordered without PS or PB, no A/C. It had the Magnum 500s on it when I bought it in 2007 but I also liked the steel wheel look so I switched a little while after buying it. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...4-img_0406.jpg
