Thanks,
Thank you to Jack S as well for talking with me on the phone about Boeshield and some cleaning tips. It is so hard not to start taking a car apart and just restore everything. They are only original once. Sorry it's not a Chevy or GM product guys just an endorsment for the product. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...iggthumpup.gif I am doing some cleaning and Boeshielding on my all original 69 RAIII GTO car. I will send Bruce (Xplant) the pics for a members ride when done.

Wow, sounds like I can use Boeshield on everything. Wonder if this stuff would be ok to use on a old set of headers?

regarding the plating on the hood hinges of Jack's Z... do you think it may be some type of heat treating? From the photo's it looks an awful lot like the finish on a sway bar...

Re: Restore original parts or leave them alone?

Yes I was thinking that may be the case as well. My 69 GTO's hood springs have the same finishes on the springs and hinges as the Camaro's.

I need to use that stuff on my original '69. I also want to clean this thing up but don't really want to paint. 69,000 miles never apart.

Re: Restore original parts or leave them alone?

Previous owner used a spray can under the hood in some spots that need to be addressed. And those headers are from the early seventies.
