When you see a Hi Bid No Sale or the Bid goes on at Mecum it can be a &quot;Ghost Bid&quot; from the Auction / Auctioneer. trying to &quot;Get Close&quot; to the reserve and or &quot;fishing for a Real Bid&quot; ,,,,, as the Auction has the right to bid towards &quot;Reserve&quot; price.

Some of those 'the Bid goes on' actually Never had Real Bid.....

Its also a way for the Seller to have his Car Appraised , testing the waters of the market.
