Re: doees anyone know this car?
Is the 9000 miles supposed to be after the restoration?
|
Re: doees anyone know this car?
There is a lot wrong with that sheet.

Re: doees anyone know this car?
Mecum just deleted the ad..
It looked like someone morphed 2 build sheets together. Certain sections of it looked to be from a 1970 L78 Chevelle, while other areas are showing a later produced 1970 Chevelle. |
Re: doees anyone know this car?
Either they are developing morals or were crushed under the amount of items that were wrong about this car.
I would venture to bet it is not them developing morals |
Re: doees anyone know this car?
"were crushed under the amount of items that were wrong about this car."
........................why should Mecum or any other auction company care about the amount of items that are wrong with the car ,with the one exception as it relates to the paperwork not being real ?? |

Re: doees anyone know this car?
I sold an LS-6 to Joey at Jen jacs back in 2007 in fact on his site when you click the restorations tab it's the one on the in progress tab. I delivered car to him. I've seen a lot of restorations but they do some of the nicest work I've ever seen and Joey was very diligent in making sure the build sheet for the car I sold him was real. If there's something off with build sheet I doubt it was his doing

Re: doees anyone know this car?
Lot #F196 JenJacs restored Black LS6 Hardtop got 130K.
VIN 136370K150327 Nice looking car,but hardly correct as assembled. Build sheet shows it came: With a bench seat, now it has buckets & console. With idiot lights, now holding a Taiwan tach. With a bulge hood with an open element air cleaner, now holding a working flapper hood with hood pins & snorkle air cleaner. With no band aid stripes, now it does. With no power steering, now it does. Not to mention the aftermarket master cylinder, cowl grilles, incorrect driverside ex. manifold, silver highlights around the 4 smaller dash circles and missing it's door edge guards, just to name a few. |

I would venture 85% of owners that have cars like this restored entrust the shop to install the correct components- sure can get embarrassing when judged. Why don't they? Some shops are more interested in the amount of profit, than reputation..some simply don't know any better. What do you call the guy at the bottom of his graduating class in med school? Doctor;) The devil,(or difference),is indeed in the details. |

I saw MANY of these cars that were done just like that with the buyers owing and awing over how perfect some of these cars were. It took every ounce of self control to not open my mouth and go down the list but I restrained myself. If I have said it once, I will say it a hundred times more. You get what you pay for. That black car would have brought considerably more had it been done right. It brought a lot more than it should have! The GB LS6 brought great money considering the color and trans because It WAS restored correctly. |
