Well....times have changed, that glass settling bowl probably was the safest thing going either but back in those days everything from combines and tractors to automobiles had them

Good point!! I guess we are safer now with seat belts, airbags, GPS, traction control, ABS, AWD, unleaded gas, rearview cameras, radial tires, Onstar, smart phones, etc...

Makes you wonder how we ever got along before

I think this car is in uncharted territory. I cant find another one that has sold to compare it to.

True I cannot say whether any of the cars sold in that guide are well documented versions. I would think some were and some were not but to say all were not documented does not seem accurate. But the one for 42 plus had to be at least a high quality restoration one would think.

Bruce - do you have docs verifying 409/425? Hard to tell from your overall photo, but some of that does look like dealership docs.

Plus he is in contact with original owner who has verified what it was when new and where he bought it. We have the ledger sheet from the dealer showing sale price of car $4120.00 minus what they gave him for trade in. I know Doc's are everything with A car like this but how often can you trace entire history and have the original owner verify it all for you in writing plus hava a article published from 25 years ago basically saying what we already new.
Interesting story in the Late great chevy article from 1985 original owner states that he traded car in on a 65 Vette (have that doc also) they called him a few months later and said they couldn't sell car because of the "big motor" and that they were going to put a 327 in it would he be interested in buying original motor. He bought it we have the check he wrote and the reciept from the dealer. Original owner hung on to motor and in 1974 second owner was selling car and original owner bought it back and reunited motor to car. original owner and his step son owned car until around 2005 when it came to my area.
