Re: 1970 Black Challengers
It's an important distinction because Ed's car doesn't fall within those numbers - just wanted to be clear for all reading this.

Re: 1970 Black Challengers
A friend of a friend has/had a black on black T/A Challenger.
|
Re: 1970 Black Challengers
T/As would be a part of the base Challenger list too.

Re: 1970 Black Challengers
Diego, based on your research, what do think is the rarest color on a 70 Challenger? Not necessarily odd color combos, but just general body color? Also, what special order colors have you run across on 70 Hemi or 440 Six Pack Challengers?

Re: 1970 Black Challengers
Well, someone posted the R/T numbers above so you can see there. Or do you mean base Challengers?
For what it's worth, I haven't done any research - I just have some numbers from Galen Govier. But, as a rule, the yellow-golds, golds, beiges, and mid-year Panther Pink and Green Go tend to be the rarest colors for Mopar muscle in 1970. As far as special-order colors are concerned, I know there's at least one, and perhaps a few, A4 silver Challengers built, which wasn't a normal color option for the Challenger but was for the C-body. If there's another special-order color, I don't know about it or I don't remember it. |

Is that the car you have in mind? |
Re: 1970 Black Challengers
Don't remember. I've seen one in Carlisle.

Sorry John, just a photo i got from the internet a few years back. i have no idea where the car is from. </div></div> The convertible photo was taken at MCACN last year in the lobby of the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center. I know, because I parked the car there for the owner and that shot must have been taken right after I parked it, as there is no red drape/stanchion around it and the tires weren't yet detailed! Note the big "RCC" which is Rosemont Convention Center. BTW; neat post and great info, Diego! Bashton MCACN Managing Member |

Re: 1970 Black Challengers
Looking at your numbers, we had a hemi orange rt/se 440,4sp and was told that it was 1 of 142? Your number leads me to believe there were more rt/se's than straight up rt's?
