On another note.. Notice the orange Yenko in the pic with no vinyl top and fender pin striping. We believe it is my car that Joe and Brian are restoring for me that they brought to MCACN. I think it's the only known one with that combo. http://www.corvettes-musclecars.com/...koBackyard.jpg https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/ubbt...e=MVC-038F.jpg https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/ubbt...n_IMG_1680.JPG

Now that's cool Charley! Congrats. On the last pic - is this a new way shops are displaying restos these days (done but without sub-frame attached)? New one on me.

We have been asked on several occassions to bring cars like this to shows. I have down it two years in a row first at VetteFest and then the MCACN show as well as some local shows. Spectators love seeing cars in this state as it gives them the opportunity to see the car before it's completion and see things they might otherwise not be able to see. We have some ideas in the works for future MCACN shows to really showcase the restoration process and give potential customers and spectators alike an upclose and personal look at what goes into a restoration as well as make it interesting. Brian and Joe have also done this at several shows and were highly successful at it. This car looked great how it was displayed and always drew a crowd. I had planned on bringing the 68 Yenko in a similar state but things beyond our control kept us from doing that. |
Re: Who Wants To Buy The Yenko Dealership??
Charley, was this car sold without Yenko stripes, or were they removed? If sold with Yenko stripes, do you know if the pin stripes were removed by Yenko before applying the Yenko stripes? I suspect that Don would not want to go through the hassle of removing the pin stripes, but just curious what you have determined.

The Late Dave Miner's Z16's. The best and first display I remember with cars in various stages of restoration at a major show. http://www.z16chevelle.com/welcome_files/image005.jpg I like seeing this type of display and applaud those who make the extra effort to move these non running cars around to be shown. |
