Sorry to hear this Pete. We have a reservation near us as well and they have their own set of rules and policing it seems. I will keep my eyes open at this end of Ontario.

Time to round up the Cavalry...??

I wouldn't be surprised to see that happening before long. The good ol' USA is gettin fed up with the "we have rights too" crap. You're seeing the silent majority begin to rise.

Is there no law on a reservation?

[/ QUOTE ]
Well, yes and no, it is my understanding they have their own police.

The O.P.P seldom over step them and aren't going to in this case IMHO.

Many people from Hamilton know all too well about auto/truck theft and the native reserve.

Can't count how many pick-up trucks go missing every year. I sincerely hope you get your car back, good luck.

It was in the local paper last week that over 450 vehicles have been found stripped down out there this year alone. I often think one of my camaros will end up there. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bs.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bs.gif

They may not know what they have with the camaro which might, make it easier to find who has it, if they try to sell pieces. Perhaps the Canada dept of interior should revisit it's reservation agreements if they are going to be nothing more than a safe haven for illegal activities. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bs.gif
I hope for the best Pete.

Time to assess our/your security measures:
Wheel lock for trailer.
Club
Immobilizer (I thought all GM trucks has this)
On Star(Police can locate vehicle)
Add your own immobilizer.

Absolutely horrible news. As little condolence as it may seem I will spread the word here in MN.

I believe they can triangulate a cell phone even if it is not being used. The phone also send out one last "ping" when the battery dies, this can be triangulated (from cell towers) and the phone located.

Re: STOLEN: Dmax/trailer/COPO Camaro

If that's true, it sounds like an extra cell phone which is left in a trailer or vehicle strickly as an anit-theft device might be worth it. Hide it in the vehicle then call it after a theft and have it traced.
Trailer wheel locks are a great idea to prevent it from happening in the first place, but if it does, it sure would be nice to pin-point where it is after it's gone.

My hope is that someday, I'll read that one of these thefts was caught in the act and the final result is dead bloody bodies in the parking lot. I've heard of way too many instances of this happening. Parking lot security at conventions should be the TOP priority whenever organizing any event where nice cars gather. One way in and one way out with 24-7 checks in the lot.
