I still have this killer, great factory color combo, 100% numbers matching original factory engine and drivetrain, 4 speed 67 GTO for sale. Maybe I'm missing something, but even in today's market it seems like a great deal to me as some guys are still paying $15k for basket case GTO's that get dragged from junk yards!

If the paint is a little too groovy for you, this car is an easy paint and detail job away from being a great OE appearance GTO.

I need the room - I should have my head examined but the first paid SYC member with $25k can own it! Fly in and drive it home OR for an extra $500 I will have it delivered to SCR in a few weeks!

Jim,

I wasn't alive in the year where any meaningful "before" pics could have been taken https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/grin.gif

There has been no (as in zero/none) paint or interior work done, other than complete disassembly to clean everything and put it back together. When the engine was rebuilt we did our best to make the new paint on it have patina, and I replaced the awful 1980's M/T valve covers with original 67 GTO chrome ones, and also a "seasoned" Cal Custom air cleaner as you can see.

Other than a good bath nothing has been done to the paint in over 20 years. I'm sure waxing it would make it nice and shiny, but it looks so cool like this I left it alone.

Hope this answers your question.

the "awful" M/T valve covers are as much of the "charm" of this car as is the paint, 8 track, wheels and fuzzy arm rests, *I* would have left them on ... https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/smile.gif

Re: Wild "Day Two" 1967 GTO 4 Spd-You Gotta See Th

Jim,

I hate to disagree, but, the car had the original chrome valve covers and a Cal Custom-style air cleaner when it was parked in the barn in the early-1980's. Sometime in the 20+ years of storage somebody stole the valve covers, air cleaner, horn button, and radiator fan. So when I bought the car the seller had thrown on a nasty set of old M/T covers that post-dated the original Day Two build by at least a couple of decades. The engine was never run with the M/T covers, let alone was the car driven. To me, they didn't belong and I took them off. I also tossed out the two utility trailer tires somebody had put on in the last decade to roll the car around on, they had nothing to do with the original build either https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/naughty.gif

Regardless, if you send $25k you can have your choice of valve covers - the M/T ones are here on the shelf collecting dust https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/grin.gif I'm happy to swap them out.

Best regards,
Colin

ok then, having had no idea of the history of the car, I would have only assumed that the M/T valve covers went on on day 2, as they WERE (and still are), a popular mod.

all the day 2 items are what makes some of these cars so unique, very few were left stock, whether it be exhaust or wheels, air cleaners, etc

I find day 2 cars more interesting than a cookie cutter resto, but that is just me, I LIKE patina

but I am not in the market, sorry
