Chrysler was seriously considering selling a 2 seater to compete with the Thunderbird and Corvette. The 1955 Chrysler Falcon Concept Car. 1 of 3 built. The reason for not building it: Chrysler determined the market for three 2 seater sports cars was too small.

The Z29 stripe package was the internal RPO code for base side stripes standard on the SS396. Of the 63,006 SS396 models produced in 1967, 4,770 (a little over 7%) opted for the RPO D96 special stripes yet these are not often seen today and many restorers choose not to replace even the standard stripes.
