Re: SBR's 1967 427/435 Corvette!
Wow! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/worship.gif
That is just absolutely stunning. I could only imagine the looks on people's faces when that bad azz ride hit the showroom. The restoration is awesome. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/flag.gif MB |
Re: SBR's 1967 427/435 Corvette!
It doesn't get much better than a black/blue 435 Coupe. Beautiful Car. One of the nicest restored 67's I have seen.
I thought you would like to see this picture. Not mine nor do I know the owner but it was entered for flight judging at the 2007 NCRS National in Boston. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...6/DSCN0119.jpg -Dave |
Re: SBR's 1967 427/435 Corvette!
Very cool Steve!!!!!!Without a doubt my favorite 67 Vette.I am sure this is giving Chris sellers remorse on his 400 air roadster.

Re: SBR's 1967 427/435 Corvette!
Steve or Chris could probably verify this, but I believe that the dealer painted the black coupe blue to sell it when it was new. I can't believe that this pretty color combination was hard to sell, but it may have been. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif

Re: SBR's 1967 427/435 Corvette!
Steve, your black/blue is the only '67 that I like as much as my maroon J56 car....... and I might add, your the guy who found it for me. Thanks!

Re: SBR's 1967 427/435 Corvette!
I'll always have sellers remorse. Chased my black blue car for 10 years, then overspent on it.

It was then painted blue and the car sold https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/crazy.gif I have to admit that I do miss the car but it is still close by and is in very good hands. I had been chasing the car that I currently own for several years so when it became available I had to let this one go. In a perfect world I would have loved to have kept both but I have no regrets at all. Paul, it was a pleasure helping you find your J56 car, glad your happy with it. Here is a pic of my and Chris' old car.http://i35.tinypic.com/jhsh08.jpg |
Re: SBR's 1967 427/435 Corvette!
Steve, is your blk/blue car a 435? A buddy has one that is not one of the known four, bought it new, still has it.

Re: SBR's 1967 427/435 Corvette!
I can't understand why that color combo wouldn't sell in 1967 its beautiful I have never seen it before I love it.
Although I remember my father taking me to see these Vettes at the Chevy dealership when they were new and I don't remember them coming from the factory anywhere near that nice? My father ended up buying a 427 Impala thinking it was a better value then the "high priced" Vette at the time. That is a spectacular resto on that car holy cow. |
Re: SBR's 1967 427/435 Corvette!
Lance,
I would l love to see your friends car and if it is for sale I would be interested if it is a no stories car. The coupe is a 435. Les, Thanks for the compliment, it is a truly stunning Corvette. I am glad it went to a good home. |

Re: SBR's 1967 427/435 Corvette!
There was also another black and blue 1967 Corvette around. This was a 435 convertible with 30k offered by Corvette Enterprise in the early 90's. Who has that one today?

Re: SBR's 1967 427/435 Corvette!
See the pic of the black/blue 435 conv. on page 5, it could be the same car. It is owned by a gentleman in Ohio.

[ QUOTE ] Stunning color combination. LOVE the Speedway Blue's https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/drool.gif [/ QUOTE ] Exactly what I was thinking. I can't imagine the dealer having trouble selling it because of the color. To me it's much more appealing than a Black/Red car. Beautiful piece! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/worship.gif [/ QUOTE ] Hard to believe, but in 67 they made only 815 black Corvettes (coupes and convertibles) out of 22,940 total cars made. It was the rarest color. Goodwood Green was the most popular with 4293 made. |
Here is another stunner from days gone by:worship:

Stunning!! I think Kenny Wayne Shepherd sang about this actual Vette's color combo! : )
|
That car was stunning.
