Re: SCR8 Drag Racing Shots (and a bit more)
I did see the 409 run briefly, it was in the lane next to me. Didn't catch much after I passed him. LOL
Must have run pretty good, I think I ran a 12.1 or so on that pass at 116... it was a fun race, much more challenging than racing Charley - yawn. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...arleySucks.gif Colin |
Re: SCR8 Drag Racing Shots (and a bit more)
Verne...I've got some runs on video...I'll let you know...I believe he was running low 12's.... https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif

Re: SCR8 Drag Racing Shots (and a bit more)
Thanks Bruce. I've enjoyed every one of your photos, even though I kinda lean toward the big cars. Perhaps someone who ran alongside him has saved their time slip.
Thanks for the extra photos of the car Rick. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/smile.gif I also loved seeing "your" sign on display. Having Mark's '68 in front of it was the PERFECT setting!! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/cool.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/flag.gif Verne |
Re: SCR8 Drag Racing Shots (and a bit more)
Verne I talked to him for a while . He came with a buddy in a Roman red or Honduras maroon (can't remember) , Grey interior 61 Impala with SS trim on it...348/350 4 speed !! The 09 was running low 12's I'm sure but has been in the 11's...lots of real aluminum on the car...he was sorting thru some AFB stuff between runs...it was an automatic.

Re: SCR8 Drag Racing Shots (and a bit more)
If somebody knows the number the 409 had at the Reunion, I can sort through my time slips and see what he ran on the one pass I was next to him on. Unfortunately, I did not get a chance to meet the owner or get a name either. Cool car all the way - I think it had Raider wheels also? https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...iggthumpup.gif

Re: SCR8 Drag Racing Shots (and a bit more)
Since we pitted just across from him, I talked a bit with him about the cars. Neat cars! Don't recall his name, but he had a "Phil Reed" t-shirt on. I haven't seen Phil in years, but I'll bet if you gave him a call, ole' 409 Phil could put you in touch or give you the low down on the car.

Re: SCR8 Drag Racing Shots (and a bit more)
CSX289,the cars number was 37 on the windshield. The last few runs he was starting to get the bugs out of it.

Re: SCR8 Drag Racing Shots (and a bit more)
Verne, I sent you a PM about the car and owner. I can give you his number off line if you are interested.

Re: SCR8 Drag Racing Shots (and a bit more)
Thanks for the shots! It looks like a car should coming off the line and doing a low 12. It's certainly a "fun" car.
Who do I have to bribe to let a legit '62 into that crowd next year??? https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/blush.gif |

That '63 is a cool car. It was awesome to see a fullsize car run that strong. Just asking...was that a real Z11 Car?
To all the guys who took pics and videos ,a big thanks https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...iggthumpup.gif It is difficult to catch all the action at the Super Car Reunions. |
