To those attending, I'm asking a favor for detailed '67 L78 photos particularly engine bay photos.

In addition to cowl tags, overall car, engine bay photos I'm looking for as many bolt head markings as possible, colors, finishes, etc. Anything that I can study for my own build.

Cool non original engine bay shots/cars welcome as well.

Feel free to blow up my phone full of photos any time of the day: 408.859.9429 I'd really appreciate it!

Thank You!

Here are a few pics I took. First is my car unloaded and in 67 L78 display, next my car information poster. There are five 67 L78s. The car next to mine is a butternut yellow still owned by original owner. Interesting his car and mine both built 7B and with 456 axle ratio with many similarities and irregularities. the rest of the pics are in the judging area.

A big thank you to my friend Kerry Stanley for organizing and inviting all the cars to the 55 anniversary 1967 L78 invitational display. Fantastic group of owners; Kerry S., Bob C., Phil B., Jay A. Steve S. and L35 honorable mention Dean S. :)

Besides mine inside there's Probably another 7 or 8 1970 Z/28's and L78 's all lined up in a row ... Don't think I've ever seen that at a single show!

bergy 07-17-2022 10:46 AM

It was a great show! Very well organized & tons of great cars. About 540 Camaros parked outside on display Saturday. Kudos to the organizers and a huge thanks to all of the volunteers.

mhm1966 07-17-2022 01:14 PM

Totally agree with Bergy. What a great venue for the Camaro Nationals!

enio45 07-17-2022 02:36 PM

Sounds like a hugh success!!! Congrats to the organizers and the participants!

GrumpyJeff 07-17-2022 03:50 PM

Originally i thought 3 days of nothing but Camaro’s would get old pretty fast , But boy was i wrong ! I probably spent more time meeting & talking to people i only know thru social media . I was skeptical at 1st if my 70Z was even worthy to be invited inside ? , Again the People involved made this event one of the Coolest shows i’ve been to in along time . Oh and the Cars !!!!

Copo_Cartel 07-17-2022 04:06 PM

I think we are spoiled with the new location and dates. The folks really put on a great show.
Our Super Man 67 Yenko car competed in the legends class and scored 99.7% and obtaining 4985 points.

Awesome show location with great friends and many spectacular cars too! The show hours of Friday & Saturday sure went by very fast. I need to get there earlier on Thursday next year. I didn't have a car there but helped on the 2nd Gen Legends judging team.

KevinW 07-17-2022 10:13 PM

While I might have missed some cars, I did not see one Frost green 69 in attendance on Sat, (painted that color of course) :)

Great cars and pics so far. Love Paul’s stripe delete Z and that red on red big block 68. 💕❤️

L16pilot 07-18-2022 02:18 AM

Outstanding show. Well organized, and the Classic Auto Mall is a great venue. Cannot give enough kudos as well to the Holiday Inn staff. As we were waiting in line to check in Thursday, the staff brought out beer, hard cider and hors d'oeuvres for everyone! Also got to see old friends and make some new ones. Met GrumpyJeff and his 70Z is an awesome car! Can't wait til next year!

Steve, does the black 67 setting to the left of your car belong to Phil?

Steve Shauger 07-18-2022 12:11 PM

Yes. Phil happens to be in that picture behind the yellow car. The owner of the yellow car Bob C. purchased it new. That car is a 7B built with 456s like mine.

A few more judged cars.

1967 4K 07-18-2022 12:31 PM

Is judging mandatory? I just like to go places n hang out with Camaro guys n talk about our hobby. I have no interest in points or awards stuff.

Steve Shauger 07-18-2022 12:36 PM

No judging is a personal choice and there are different display areas. Non judged would most likely would be outside, but the invitational (non judged) was inside.

bugsy 07-18-2022 12:43 PM

Great show and Great cars. I think this show will grow each year. Thanks to those who organized this show and to all volunteers. We brought my wifes 1970 Z28 with 33k miles survivor. Only reproduction parts are tires and battery. car scored a bronze, first time this car was judged since she owns it in 19 years.

67 Nova Boy 07-18-2022 03:10 PM

Mr. 70...what is wrong with the Garnet Red 69 Z? Me being a Nova guy, I don't have a clue what's right or wrong on a 69 Camaro

Yup, we talked about the nuance differences between LA and Norwood built cars...especially the decklid and spoiler areas. Super nice meeting you and I didn't realize who you were until I strolled over later to see your car :)
