Got the springs in....that was NOT fun....the rest of the front end stuff went smooth...next weekend install rear brake hose, bleed all brake lines, route the 3/8 fuel line from rear to front.

I got this air cleaner from Speedway....it has a velocity base...should flow very good!

Too Many Projects 03-06-2022 03:05 PM

More progress...looks good.
Installing front springs without the engine in for weight is a PITA. For that situation, I use a 30" piece of 5/8" all thread to pull the lower arm up to attach the spindle.

Looks great, love this one.

Too Many Projects 03-06-2022 10:38 PM

Front should come down about level, if it retains original small block springs.
Are those pie crust slicks from Towel City ?

The springs are small block by Eaton...yes they are Towel City, I sure like em....fronts are Firestone Wide Oval radial....so all 4 tires are radial with the "Bias ply" look.

Too Many Projects 03-07-2022 12:00 AM

I bought a pair of those slicks too and 1 was so far out of balance I returned it. The replacement was better, but still took a lot of weight. They seem OK on the road now.

Mr70 03-07-2022 12:07 AM

I don't like it.

Mr70 03-07-2022 12:09 AM

....I LOVE it! :burnout:

I bought it from a guy in the Twin Cities area....wish I remembered his name!!! He probably is wondering what happened to this old turd. Car was last registered in 1973 and was at a farm site for 46 years...it was a disgusting mess when I bought it in 2019...mice nests all over, I spent hours and hours cleaning, vacuuming, power washing etc.

I have pair of those!!

I love the 60's vibe going on here, the station wagon rear bumper and no front bumper really brings it!! I had a buddy with a twin to this, built 301, Muncie and a one piece fiberglass tilt front. - Bill W

Right On! The 60's/70's vibe is exactly what I'm into with this ride...I'm doing the best I can with limited funds, hell, you only live once!

300deluxe 03-10-2022 12:32 PM

Glad I bought my 383 when I did, the engine went from $5,699 to $6099, $400 increase.

I just thought I recognized it from a tri5 website..

Is the original color Glacier Blue with white top? As this car looks like it was a twin to mine, even down to the gas door chrome

Thanks man, I appreciate it! More to come!

300deluxe 03-13-2022 12:51 AM

Got a little work done on the 55 today...rear brake hose in, new master cylinder, flushed out all old brake fluid, so brakes are totally done and ready, also front KYB shocks installed. Next weekend Blueprint engine going in...still waiting on the transmission though, should be done in a couple weeks.
