Re: 1969 SS396 325hp Chevelle
Today I went through all my medal blades cutting off original rusty control arm bolts.....Fun.
I ran out out blades.....one more rear control arm bolt and the rear end will be out Hope to have everything at Powder Coater next week http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...pscs43u3gu.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...psixuxqys2.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...psntp2adio.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...psnrlzkkvv.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...psrvp4xkpz.jpg |
Re: 1969 SS396 325hp Chevelle
I am super confused......where is the mess? Are you moving the frame to a remote location for photos?

Re: 1969 SS396 325hp Chevelle
Nope, I am Super Clean....vacuum, sweeper, degreaser right around the corner

I see "No-Hop" bars on the upper control arms.

Re: 1969 SS396 325hp Chevelle
Kurt,
Those will be removed and will Not be placed back on the car.....as they are not a correct Day2 Circa part Dan |
Re: 1969 SS396 325hp Chevelle
I respectfully disagree as Jerry Frailey had them on his car back then.....and still does.

Re: 1969 SS396 325hp Chevelle
Well - let me rephrase - it's the brand and the name of the part....we want correct vintage parts. Besides we will be going with ladder bars instead :-)
Dan |
Re: 1969 SS396 325hp Chevelle
NOTHING says "Day 2" more than a set of ladder bars! You have my approval.....not that you needed it.
Mine are hanging on the wall in the garage for multiple reasons but that's another topic. Kurt |
Re: 1969 SS396 325hp Chevelle
Another fun build thread to follow. And no LS motors!

Re: 1969 SS396 325hp Chevelle
Got the firewall stripped down.....sending all the proper parts out for silver zinc, gold zinc and phosphate plating.

Re: 1969 SS396 325hp Chevelle
WOW! That's a full inventory of vintage speed
|
Re: 1969 SS396 325hp Chevelle
Love the day two themes, but don't forget, the 60s/70s died for a reason lol... "Beautiful '70's Shift Ball" is a matter of opinion! Beautiful condition maybe. It's amazing that such beautiful cars came out of an era that was so fugly... In the end, yours is the only opinion that matters. Just my .02 for what ever it's worth. Love the project!
