Re: Brents 1969 L78 Original California Camaro
Very nice. Is it common to have the dist. hold down painted orange on an aluminum intake?

Re: Brents 1969 L78 Original California Camaro
Brent:
Just curious: what all did you have to do to the car to make it look that good? Any rust repair or paint work? |
Re: Brents 1969 L78 Original California Camaro
Awesome car Brent. It looks to be in much better condition than I had imagined from the description in the original thread over at TC. Very nice!

Re: Brents 1969 L78 Original California Camaro
Brent, nothing I could say now I didn't say in person.
Car is fantastic! Loved seeing it as SLS. Congrats buddy... glad that starter worked too Dan |
Re: Brents 1969 L78 Original California Camaro
Thanks to all for the kind words .The paint on the car has its patina to it dings and dents but it doest bother me some would paint it. To me it would be another restored camaro so iam leaving it alone.
The car is CRAZY solid only rust repair was in the trunk bottom but very little from the trunk matt .All i did was power wash the HELL out of the underside and clean the carpet and inside.I did touch the paint here and there and lace the hood http://i411.photobucket.com/albums/p...131424_364.jpg |

Re: Brents 1969 L78 Original California Camaro
I love RG... that car is a freaking TREASURE!!!!
Never seen that on a Norwood car.Maybe it's a VN thing... BTW Brent did you see how well the original deluxe Comfort Weave interior cleaned up in the 69 Conv I am doing now? You may want to do something similar to your comfort weave seats. BTW I lace D90 stripes would be killer... |
Re: Brents 1969 L78 Original California Camaro
Awesome car ! Congrats !! love the orig. detail pics...keep them coming!! Surprised how much green on the floor boards and tunnel, etc. I know there are many variations, but is that typical? Is that masking tape under the sill?
How about some acion shots??? |
Re: Brents 1969 L78 Original California Camaro

Re: Brents 1969 L78 Original California Camaro
I have more fun cleaning and refurbishing original parts and components than replacing with repo. Especially when people have to do a double take as to whether it is original or restored. I try hard to make sure the details are not perfect, but have them look perfectly in place. (does that make sense?)
The biggest compliment I can get regarding my restorations is if a knowledgeable collector asks themselves is this restored or is it a low mile preserved survivor? I have seen a few restored cars over the years where when I look at them I go back and start looking more and more to determine whether or not the car was restored, along with the high performance survivors they are the ones I remember. |

Re: Brents 1969 L78 Original California Camaro
Its not masking tape its paper left under the sills i dont know if the factory put that on the floor to cover the carpets when it was new. thanks alot for the comments <div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Originally Posted By: iluv69s</div><div class="ubbcode-body">Awesome car ! Re: Brents 1969 L78 Original California Camaro
Can you please post pictures of your coil bracket and coil part #??? I'm thinking it should be a BR 270?
Thanks, Tom |
Re: Brents 1969 L78 Original California Camaro
Sorry the coil was replaced
|
Re: Brents 1969 L78 Original California Camaro
Brent.
That new 69 you recently picked up is killer ! I normally don't read L78 specifics, but now I will. ! I'm impressed with the unique history that car has as being just left untouched for so many decades. What's that total for badass cars now In your stable ? Thanks for finding it for others to enjoy. Re: Brents 1969 L78 Original California Camaro
Hey Brent,
Car looks great, very nice pickup and my fav color! You may want to go over all the interior as my car was a 02B (1200 after your car) and had a mint buildsheet somewhere in the interior (haven't confirmed with previous owner where it was found). May have been in the door panels. My car still has it's sheet visible under the gas tank but I haven't dropped it yet since I have the other perfect sheet. http://i1282.photobucket.com/albums/...psefc5004a.jpg |

Re: Brents 1969 L78 Original California Camaro

Totally one of my favorite Day 2 Camaro's of all time. |
Who makes the best front deluxe seat covers for my L78
|
I don’t think anyone has the ability to make actual Comfortweave material anymore (last working machine in Japan was destroyed in the Kobe tsunami).
|
|
Brent, you have to buy that original interior!
