Re: 63 Impala SS 409-425 Horse
The good old 409 with its original engine, transmission and 4.56 rear end is ready to find a new home. $42,000 takes this car home.

Re: 63 Impala SS 409-425 Horse
The phone is ringing and the emails are coming in. I think this car will be gone soon.

Re: 63 Impala SS 409-425 Horse
Verne, thank you for all of your positive comments on the car over the course of its advertising.
|
Re: 63 Impala SS 409-425 Horse
My pleasure. It's a lot more satisfying to point out a real one than a fake one.

Re: 63 Impala SS 409-425 Horse
Thanks to the Guys in Austin for the help, you can't go wrong buying a car from them and to our very own resident 409 afficionado, Vern for all the help. Tom and I got the exterior detailed and took the '09 for a nice ride in the country.

Absolutely love it heater delete too!!!!!
guy on my street had a 63 409 convertible Dual quad it was blue and that car was fast !!!!!! ( I was about 11 and already a gear head I'd fetch him Green bottle cokes while he worked on it And I'd get rides while he power shifted He beat a lot of newer muscle cars ......helped put the Rebuilt engine back in ......still love 409s ... |
Re: 63 Impala SS 409-425 Horse
----Its funny, the only 409 car in my neighborhood back in the era was a maroon/black gut 340 horse 4spd convert. It ran pretty good but he regularly got stomped by his buddies 63 Biscayne with a transplanted 327/365 Vette motor. I was 17 or so at the time......Bill S

Re: 63 Impala SS 409-425 Horse
Wow, those are some great glamour shots. The car looks good......
Thank you, Stefano. |

Re: 63 Impala SS 409-425 Horse
That's what will always be cool about 409's. EVERYBODY has a great 409 story from back in the day.

Re: 63 Impala SS 409-425 Horse
Ya, Baby.......it needed those white walls.
|
Re: 63 Impala SS 409-425 Horse
It looks like the correct master cylinder is back on it, too.
|
Re: 63 Impala SS 409-425 Horse
----Close enough! That maroon 63 was based around Chippewa Lake as was the Biscayne. Rumor had it that the 365 motor was a bit warm as well as the trans, if you know what I mean.
----I knew that black car would look right with the whites on it. Does it ever!!!......Bill S |
Re: 63 Impala SS 409-425 Horse
Wow! Looks terrific!!!

Re: 63 Impala SS 409-425 Horse
Correct B.F. Goodrich Silvertown's , Correct master, Correct 4 core radiator. Nice exterior detail and buff.
All fluids fresh. Lot's of the repro parts already swapped out with NOS or originals. Still more to follow. |
Re: 63 Impala SS 409-425 Horse
So Stefano are you the new owner?
|
Re: 63 Impala SS 409-425 Horse
You know, a white painted top would sure set off those Silvertown whitewalls.....just sayin';)
|
Re: 63 Impala SS 409-425 Horse
Yes, it's now in NicKey inventory and we'll let the next owner decide on the color of the top. It's a quick fix, but I like it this way best as far as color.
|
Re: 63 Impala SS 409-425 Horse
----I can see the fingers of one of the foremost 409 guys around have touched this 63 already, and that's a good thing. Nobody knows more!......Bill S
|
Re: 63 Impala SS 409-425 Horse
I offered to drive it to St. Charles, but Tom wanted to pick it up. That would have been an expensive drive with 4.56 gears.
