Stefano…That is a beautiful 71’ W-30 convertible. The Viking blue is still one of the most striking colors ever offered! Thanks for posting the pictures.

Re: Lets see some '71 442 W-30's!
Now I don't want to post my 1971 W-30 convt, yours is much nicer than mine. It is a three color car like my 70. Very nice. Is your car on Paul Martins list of w-30 convts? I have not figured out how to post a higher resolution picture at lower resolution. I did try to post mine several times.

Re: Lets see some '71 442 W-30's!
Hello Lee,
I know It's on my list : ) It's been fluffed and repainted once, but it's mostly unrestored. Full owner history, of a 37,000 original mile car. Orig. Docs, original top and interior. You can see it in person at MCACN. Please post your pics when you figure out how to do it! |
Re: Lets see some '71 442 W-30's!
I look forward to seeing the car and meeting you. I will be bringing my 1970 442 w-30 convt to MCACN so we will have both years covered and Mark is bringing his newly acquired 1969 Black w-30 convt 4 speed. We just need a 1972 and we will have a good selection covered. I sold my x vin 72 4 speed convt many years ago but probably should have kept it.
BTW I love your color combination.. Lee |
Re: Lets see some '71 442 W-30's!
I was already looking forward to spending some quality time with your W30 as well as meeting you
FYI , there are quite a few real W30 rags within an hours drive of the show. |
Re: Lets see some '71 442 W-30's!
Lee...email me the pics and I'll post them!
|
Re: Lets see some '71 442 W-30's!
I know most of the cars ended up in your area. I know Ed V. and Elliot J are coming to the show along with a few more of my old w-30 convt friends. I hope you like my 1970.
See you soon. I will try to scan a few pictures of my 1971. It is a really nice driver with a m-22 4 speed. |
Re: Lets see some '71 442 W-30's!
Ed V. Just cleaned out the fridge at my shop, yesterday and not in a positive way.
Most of the storage racks we use in the shop as well as many of the NOS parts we have in stock came from Ed. |
Re: Lets see some '71 442 W-30's!
The top radiator hose on my 70 is from the Ed collection. He is a good guy..........Lee
I got the thread off a bit........back to posting pictures of 71 w-30s sorry |
Re: Lets see some '71 442 W-30's!
Get to posting already.
Here is another '71 W30 identifier. (Buick also used this special trans on early '71 Stage Cars.) [img:center]http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a79...09340HP086.jpg[/img] |
Re: Lets see some '71 442 W-30's!
Oh man, I'm loving these 442's. I can't wait to see the collection at MCACN. A nice '72 X code would certainly top things off. How about an X code '72 Hurst Olds?

Yes, I drive it whenever I get the chance. I am taking it to our first drag races of the year on September the 4th to race. John </div></div> I managed to run a 13.08 @ 108.9mph, a lot of fun in a 4 speed. |

Thank you. I was hoping to dip into the 12s, but, I couldn't get a decent 60ft time. More practice needed I think. |

Original Tiger Paw spare as well no doubt!
Awsome car, will it be at MCACN? Paul |
Re: Lets see some '71 442 W-30's!
Good eye. I was told that this was the original spare to this car as it had never been on the ground when aquired from the original owners estate.
Yes, this W30 will be at MCACN. http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a79...gBlue012-1.jpg http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a79...gBlue011-1.jpg |
Re: Lets see some '71 442 W-30's!
A lot of 442's I have seen over the years were shod with Tigerpaws.Have seen a few with the original spares as well!
|
Re: Lets see some '71 442 W-30's!
Determined to do something different I scrounged up 5 NOS ones for this restoration completed in 2005. Sold the car last year but kept these for my other 442.
