Re: Tell me about rare color combos!
I will be glad to post some photographs as soon as my wife gets a chance to do it for me!!! I am somewhat computer illiterate. The last time I posted photographs on this site a member helped me which made it much easier. I will ask the Mrs. this evening.

Re: Tell me about rare color combos!
That would be sweet!
I use imageshack.us, although that's not to say it's the easiest or the best. |

Beautiful! [/ QUOTE ] Thanks for the compliment Jed, I just finished this car a few months ago. We're in the middle of our show season down here and it's been a great time showing it. |

that is a specatular car with fantastic detail!!!!!!!!!!! [/ QUOTE ] Thanks Gilbert, it's been doing pretty well at the judged shows. I took it to the Winter National show in Kissimme a couple of weeks ago and it pulled a 992 out of a 1000. I actually thought it would do a little better but I guess I need to correct a couple of oversights on my part. It's going to the AACA Winter National show this Friday and the Charlotte Spring National show in April. We'll see how it does there. It's been fun for sure. |
Re: Tell me about rare color combos!
I love that blue interior.. Glad you kept it original. Lots of people would have changed the interior to black... Very Nice Car!!

Re: Tell me about rare color combos!

I've restored several 70's over the years and they were nice drivers but this was my first attempt at a nut/bolt, frame off, rotisserrie resto. I had a lot of great advice from Jeff Dotterer, Chris White and a few of the guys on T Chevelle on correctness issues as well. Those guys know their stuff! My only problem is I can't just hop in it and go. I've put about 40/50 miles on it just to break everything in, now it's just trailored. It's still a lot of fun showing it though. |

[/ QUOTE ] Yeah, but you sure don't see many around today in that color scheme.. I tried to talk my friend into leaving the car this way but he made it triple black when he restored it.. [ QUOTE ] I own (since 1977) a documented (shipper invoice & orig bill of sale) 68 RS Z/28 Cordovan Maroon with White Houndstooth interior and white stripes. There are several 69s in this combo, mine is the only 68 to have surfaced so far according to CRG. Also own (since 1988) a 68 SS/RS Convertible LeMans Blue with White interior, top and stripes. I can't wait to see what else shows up on this thread!!! [/ QUOTE ] Neither of those combos sound out of the ordinary - am I missing something? [/ QUOTE ] The maroon car is the only one known to exist. Other than that, nothing rare. Nothing rare at all....... https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ins/3gears.gif |
Re: Tell me about rare color combos!
I remember seeing a maroon Z/28-RS a number of years ago. I think it was a Day 2-type of car, perhaps? It was at Heartbeat City in MI.

Re: Tell me about rare color combos!
don't know really if this is considered a rare color combo, but here is a pic of my original 70 special ordered monaco orange with black interior. (originally stripe delete)

Re: Tell me about rare color combos!
You should have kept it stripe delete!
Rare or not, I'm just looking for unusual Camaros, although it seems it has become a free-for-all. I don't think Monaco Orange fits the bill but, hell, I'm not gonna stop ya from posting a picture! :-) What about those Camaros people have mentioned? LET'S SEE PICS! |

Re: Tell me about rare color combos!
A friend had bought a '69 Camaro body for a Pro Touring project and asked me to decode trim tag. It was a Burgundy exterior with a red interior 6 cyl car.
|
Re: Tell me about rare color combos!
A friend of mine alerted me to this car last week: Burgundy with red stripes...

Thats the "only one known" part of it. |
