Re: Preserving Codes During Block Cleaning

Just an update on the Safestrustremover.com rust removal on this block. I have been having one hell of a time getting the liquid to spray uniformly inside the cylinders (which have seen the most rust damage). This stuff did quite a number on the outside of the block and on the main saddles where the surfaces were easy to spray - it looks great. Because the cylinders are still pretty nasty, I am planning to have the block shot blasted anyway, but will try to mask off the suffix code that is now pristine-looking from the rust removal. I am looking forward to using the stuff elsewhere, albeit on smaller parts that are easier to handle....

How about cleaning it electrically? Anyone here ever tried this?

Electrical Rust Removal

Sounds like just the opposite of chrome plating.
