Re: Help with Possible 69 Camaro COPO engine
Joe,
Check the Yenko vin list, that vin most likely is a Yenko vin. Very few non-Yenko Copo cars built before March. The car may exist, let us know when you get it. Good luck. Mark |
Re: Help with Possible 69 Camaro COPO engine
My car was built the fourth week of June, but the engineblock was cast the second week of January and the engine was assembled at the end of May.

[ QUOTE ]
That's a pretty early casting date for a non-yenko copo car [/ QUOTE ] I have 3 non yenko COPO motors here that are either stamped may or june 69. 2 are Jan 69 dated castings and one is dec 68. I also have a dec casting non yenko COPO motor with a TO128MN on the pad. |

Re: Help with Possible 69 Camaro COPO engine
I had a friend with a 69 daytona yellow in pa, he blew the 427 up and replaced it with a 396. he later traded it in,also in pa.someone bought it from the dealer and I saw the car for a short while, then it left the area. sounds like the one. I have more info on the car, and who owned it and the history behind it if it's the one. I hope it is. dwyellow. I only joined supercar reigistry because we always wondered what happened to this car. the years you are talkng about all seem correct.

My car was built the 4th week of May and the original POP says that the engine was built in January.

Re: Help with Possible 69 Camaro COPO engine
the car I am speaking of was traded in at moorehead chevrolet in new hope pa. in the early to mid 70's. two owners before that. sat outback before someone bought it. 396 smoked at the time. 427 was sold I believe to someone down south at the time.car was rolled at one time and repainted, same color only the black rear panel was painted over.
