Chris, I say WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What in the world made you decide to use that old song??? My blood pressure is still up! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/smile.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/smile.gif Ken Walsh's '09 is a lot of fun to watch. Specially set up for the "crowd appeal"..... not ET. There are some rivalries being set up these days for this coming season. Ronnie's engine is almost ready for our dyno session and we have a "few" other unmentionable additions that are in the works for this season. We're going to be traveling and we're not planning on taking prisoners. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/scholar.gif This is the way a quick car should launch. Any motion that isn't straight ahead is lost energy... http://i83.photobucket.com/albums/j3...rantz/Atco.jpg And I am very humbled by Ronnie doing this without me knowing it.......All I did was help as much as I could the last season out................but I'm PROUD and PROUD as can be at the same time!!!!!!!!!!!!!! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/smile.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/smile.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/smile.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/smile.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/smile.gif http://i83.photobucket.com/albums/j3...ePitCrewtn.jpg Verne https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/blush.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/burnout.gif [/ QUOTE ] That is Pete Suriano power of Petes Automotive in Pottstown, Pa. Re: 409 video
Sam,
Sounds like you've been peeking inside the new engine..... https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/shocked.gif We know we'll be in the 9.s but not sure how deep. The car did a .23 with a 417 cu in motor. It's a tad larger now.... https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/naughty.gif Once the motor is built, it's "built" and there isn't much you can change for improvement after that. We'll be playing around with the top of the intake and headers on the dyno to find the best combination. After that, it's all chassis and clutch.........and maybe a few other things that aren't being discussed.........(no, we're not hiding a bottle). Pete knows his stuff for sure. He built the old 417 and it was no slouch!!!! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/worship.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...iggthumpup.gif Verne http://i83.photobucket.com/albums/j3...land1engLf.jpg |

Re: 409 video
Sure thing Chris,
As you can see, Ronnie used a "stock" intake....(he he). He made the valve covers. I worked up a set of original Carters and the car ran the same ET, so we're planning on using those old antique carbs, "just to piss 'em off".... https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/naughty.gif http://i83.photobucket.com/albums/j3.../Island1-3.jpg This was the trunk 2 years ago, before we lost LaVerne Benner http://i83.photobucket.com/albums/j3.../Island1-4.jpg He used original SS seat material to upholster the racing buckets. Came out pretty neat.. There's a carpet in it now too. http://i83.photobucket.com/albums/j3...tz/Island1.jpg The "restored" dash board..... Ronnie doesn't believe in having his race car look junky like so many are. http://i83.photobucket.com/albums/j3.../Island1-1.jpg http://i83.photobucket.com/albums/j3.../Island1-2.jpg In the lanes at Atco... http://i83.photobucket.com/albums/j3...ntz/Atco-1.jpg Anyone care to guess the significance of the 704 number???? Hope you like the photos.. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif |
