I'm still mulling over what to do. I really don't want to convert the car to 4-speed, and that closes the door on the L78 option if I want to do the F.A.S.T. thing.

The low HP 396's won't cut the mustard in F.A.S.T trim...but they were available with a 400 Turbo. Go figure. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/crazy.gif

Update: Looks like there's no need to "convert" the car over to a 4-speed...turns out after some trim tag deciphering that the car is an original Q-code bench seat 4-speed that someone's converted to automatic. (what can I say?...I'm still on my learning curve with trim tag option codes)
