You must have felt the vibes today...I talked about blowing it up with a stick of dynamite for fun....Allen and I were just talking today about the fate of it ...I am almost caught up here at work so I can get this thing out of here and the Caprice back together to sell

poured some gas in the chop saw and warmed up the Impact ...I have tried to place the thing in a loving Nova family and have had no serious bites for the car or parts...I don't get it??? it has a nice front clip...near show set of belts..rubber mat..perfect window chrome perfect dash pad etc...unless its a Deuce there must be not much demand for nice Nova stuff....e bay here we come in a bajillion pieces.

Bud.

Ouch!
Someone buy this rubber mat, we need to find out if a 4dr version works in a 2dr.

The floors are the same.... the bench seat bolts down in the same location..... I'd think that the rubber mat should be the same between a two and four door.

I agree, they should be the same.
Bud, let me know how much you want for it!

I would think the difference in the door length's would be enough to send a signal that a different floor pan & rubber mat would be necessary for a 4 dr car. The seat is located farther back in a 2 dr. thereby making the mat different in length from a 4 dr. Otherwise you would not have any foot room in the rear of the 4 dr. That is unless the wheelbase is quite a bit longer.

Just a thought from a old body shop owner. But I for one, hope that it is the same because, I know where there is complete 4 dr in a salvage near here.

Pantera,
The Nova's rubber mat is actually a two piece design, and the two pieces don't actually meet in the middle. UThere is about a 6"gap between the two halves, which is located under the front seat. I believe the wheelbase is the same for the 2dr vs. 4dr cars, the interior room is somewhat increased by a longer roof. It can be seen when you compare the angles of the windshields, the 4dr version is steeper, as are the vent windows, etc....

This coming from a newbie, who learned the hard way https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/grin.gif

I've parted out several 2 and 4 door Novas.... the wheel base and floors are the same.

Marlin is right on the other difference.... primarly being that the roofline is slightly taller and creates a different rake for the front and rear glass.

The differences that you see in the doors... the rear door nests up against the rear wheel house, so the two short doors fit where the one long and quarter sheetmetal are.

Other 4-door specific parts include...

A-pillars, B-pillar trim, front and rear windows, rear seat bottom, front bench seat, side door glass, vent window assemblies, and a few more little things.

Common parts between 2 and 4 door cars include the whole front end sheetmetal and trim, all dash parts, floor pan, trunk lid and rear stuff (bumper, lights, etc), drivetrain, driveshaft.
