Re: Price Check
The rarest would have to be a B/M Phase I or Phase II.
|
Re: Price Check
Oh yeah a Phase I or II would be about as rare as they come...
Shame that Joel didn't bother to make one or two... https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...s/confused.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif |

Re: Price Check
55chevy.. I think they were called BM's until you got to Phase 3. Belair was making a Joke because every BM car that turns up is always a Phase 3. As for value between a BM and a ZL1 I will always value a ZL1 because it was a Factory car and can be verified by the vin. BM cars are mostly verified by paying one Guy a Fee and that makes me uncomfortable.

Re: Price Check
A really valueable car would be a Nickey/Motion ZL1 Phase IV with the * conversion..... https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/grin.gif
No seriously I think that it is interesting that the only true 1 owner BM car that I have heard of owned by Board member JoeG was a phase III but in a 396 not a 427. It also makes you wonder like Belair said that the joke is that they are all phase III 427's. You would think that with the cost advantage of the phase III 396 more people would have went for it. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/naughty.gif hmmmmmm....... |
Re: Price Check
Hey !!!!! It wasn't a joke....I have never seen a Phase I or II...
|
Re: Price Check
You are correct that there were no 1's or II's because Joel told us that he came up with the Phase III name in early 69 or was it 68. Then he put the slant back window in the '69 vette because of his big dogs and called it a "SS427 Phase III GT".
Of course when '70 model rolled around then he went to the "SS454 Phase III GT" on the vettes and just "Phase III" on the Camaro's. |

[/ QUOTE ] Yeah Frank(Mr.Deuce) --you would have thought the Phase III 396 wold have been more popular, since it did have a full factory warranty. There is a 1968 article about this very subject, where Motion set up a Phase 396/375 in a 68 Camaro with the PhaseIII goodies. When I get my scanner up and running I will post it.If Motion had offered at least a 12 month warranty on the 427 drivetrain on a conversion I would have gone for it,but just couldn't swallow the 90 days.--No regrets though--JoeG https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/burnout.gif |
