Re: engine vin #'s
[ QUOTE ]
FL = 327/210 w/turbo 350 [/ QUOTE ] Since the the FL code is for a 327/210 (LF7) and It looks like the car was made after 1/1/69, if I'm reading the "made more than halfway through the 1969 production" comment correctly, don't bother worrying about it being the original engine because it isn't. The LF7 was replaced with the 307/200Hp on that date. No 327's in Camaros of any kind after 1/1/69. 327's continued to be used in full size cars for a while after 1/1/69. No LA built Camaros, after roughly the second week of June 1969 either, so an engine assembled in August is way to late for an LA car. |
Re: engine vin #'s
I have also heard of some early 69 LOS cars, built in Sept and Oct 68 with VIN's stamped by the oil filter. I believe Charley has owned at least one. Charley where are you when your needed?

Re: engine vin #'s
Yes, I own 2 69 Camaro's with the engine vin #'s located by the oil filter. One was built 09E and the other 11D.
