The plate frame is not a Yenko Chevrolet item as described in the ad. I am sure that if you contacted Yenko Honda they would be glad to send you one for free or for a small fee. The ad clearly states these are Yenko Chevrolet items. Since Yenko was out of the Chevrolet business in 1981 this is clearly bogus information. Yes, I feel very strongly that this is a misleading advertisment. Many Honda's in the area have this plate frame. The only folders I have seen are brown and gold. That is a true era correct piece. I am only pointing out the facts. If you like it buy it, just don't consider it a Yenko Chevrolet item...BKH

I think some of you guys missed the point Brian was trying to make.

First of all, you need to realize that he is THE expert when it comes to identifing Yenko memorabilia. He is the one who can tell you what/when/where etc. about certain pieces. The majority of serious Yenko memorabilia collectors (including myself) seek Brian's advice from time to time.

Now, to the point Brian was making. The license frame is not from Yenko Chevrolet, as advertised. You see, there was first Central Garage in Bentleyville, then Yenko Chevrolet (opened in about 1949, sold in 1981-'82), but also doing this time, there was Yenko Saab, Yenko Honda (still in buisness), and I believe maybe even a couple of others. Yenko Chevrolet moved from Canonsburg to McMurray in about 1972, thus Canonsburg stuff is the the most desirable, as that is where the majority of the supercars came from.

Brian was simply trying educate, and maybe save some one $$$, by pointing out the true history of the pieces. With all of the fake stuff, and mis-advetised stuff out, being sold as REAL Yenko memorabilia, we can use all of the help we can get.
