Re: Holley Carb, Application?

Well, I cant tell what intake it was on, but it does have the pipe threaded hole on the drivers side between barrels. It also appears to have the float bowls one of you other knowledgeable guys were talking about. Makes sense about it being a replacement though. Thanks.

Re: Z-16 / 3310 Holley carb ID

Checked out Sept. 1965 CAR LIFE article on the Z-16 396 Chevelle last night. There is a good picture of engine with air filter removed. With good eyes (which I dont have) and a good magnifying glass (which I do have), the float bowls can definitly be identified as being the same type as were used on 65 396 Corvettes. These original type center hung float bowls use much smaller acorn style fuel inlet nuts with no room behind them for the sintered brass fuel filters commonly found in later 3310 Holley carbs. The carb has a integral choke, round black bakelite cover, with a heat tube going to the passenger side ex manifold. JB
