Why is there a orange cast iron intake manifold and a Quadrajet carb (I can see the single fuel line and the white plastic choke pull off) on this 427/410 HP engine? Was it an L-36 or an L-72 engine on the first 1967 427 Yenko Camaros? I thought all 1967 & 1968 Yenko 427 Conversions were L-72 solid lifter, aluminum intake, with a Holley Carb engines as the COPO 1969's were. I'm just trying to learn here people, I'm not knowledgeable enough to know any better probably because I'm more of a Chevelle and Corvette Guy. Bill

^^ Weaker TH400 trans was NOT up to L72 power. So I think Yenko followed the Chevy process of rating and thus equipping the Automatic cars different than the Manual Cars (i.e. L72')

Thank Goodness for Fred Gibb and the Automatic Trans 68 Chevy II's Copo's?

There are at least five 67 Yenko's that I know of that are 4N cars that came from the factory with the TH400 and had the L-36 installed in them. There is also one 68 with A/C that had an L-36 installed in it.

The hood on the Red 1967 Yenko is a NOS hood according to the owner. I am not sure about it being a Harwood hood.

Old school fiberglass stinger hoods

I’ll start a new post later about these stinger type hoods. I got several pics n info on them.

17 of the 54 Yenko converted Camaros in 1967 were 4N cars. 3 are known to survive today
