would love to own it

Nice car Tim, you cracked me up with the sprinkler comment, lol!

First round of cleaning this morning yielded the engine suffix crayon marks. Pulled the valve covers afterwards to find the properly dated 461's along with the original "O" rocker arms.
On a different note, have you seen a remanence of paint on the deck like found here? I cannot say that I recall that. The rest of the paint on the engine strikes me as original (obviously with the crayon marks on the head). I neglected to answer the other question Bob had in his post "will the car be for sale?" Yes it will. If anyone would like to know more about the car, feel free to reach out. Thanks for the continuing interest! Me too, but not in the cards. |
I've owned 2 1965 365hp corvettes, these are the best of the C3s,
plenty of power, no heat coming in the passenger compartment like Big block cars, 4 wheel disc and one of the few solid lifter Chevrolets engines to be offered w/air conditioning. 365 HP corvettes were not available with power steering because the 6 Qt oil pan left no room for the steering ram. |

Original starter solenoid.....
https://i.imgur.com/RJLhQOch.jpg I've been more of an office clerk today than pulling wrenches. Pulled the plugs and completed the Williams / Hinckley valve adjustment procedure. Obviously this still has the 30-30 cam in it. Despite old crusty plug wires and old stinky fuel, the plugs looked good IMO! https://i.imgur.com/6gySVEih.jpg https://i.imgur.com/plMneOzh.jpg |
Clean those puppies up and put them right back in. Nothing wrong with them.
